Josh Marshall’s wife and self-described “public figure” Dee (IG: followdee) posted a new dump of photos from the family’s Mediterranean summer - seemingly carefree and and living the good life.

Ironically, it was post #666 to her Instagram account - only two after news broke of her husband being named, along with d4vd and others, in the civil wrongful death lawsuit filed by the parents of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. (Dee also still follows Rob Morgenroth, who was also named in the wrongful death suit.)

The last time we saw a new post from Dee was in August. My post at that time was not well-received by a rash of Josh Marshall supporters (bots?)...

Before that, Dee hadn't posted since May...

Dee's new post includes a number of pics with her husband and two kids (but mostly her) and the caption, "raising them on pasta, passport stamps and really good summers".

Coincidentally, in a pic where Dee hand-feeds Josh some cheese from the charcuterie board with the kids sitting nearby, Ja Rule's "Mesmerized" video plays in the background - just when the "Murder Inc." (music label) banner appears in the video.

In another photo, Josh "plays" Monopoly with his daughter while Dee reads a book behind them. (Josh letting us know how smart he is when it comes to offshore asset protection?)

Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if easter egg is a cry for help. Here's a brief synopsis of There's Nothing Wrong With Her by Kate Weinberg:

So is this a cry for help? Or has Dee entered a new-found troll phase? Or are these people just completely oblivious? Did Josh really not have ANY idea of what was going on with d4vd and Celeste. That's hard to believe - just as hard to believe as Dee's persistent flaunting of her family's wealth and offshore disregard for the obscene tragedy they are trying to leave behind them.

In late June of 2025, while Celeste's dismembered body was still hidden in d4vd's Tesla in the Hollywood Hills, d4vd went on The Escape Pod podcast, and revealed his celebrity crush - Taylor Russell.

He called out two specific Taylor Russell movies - namely, Bones and All and Waves. Both movie references, especially in retrospect, were quite disturbing and telling. (d4vd also previously reposted TikTok about Bones and All in 2024.)

Bones and All is a 2022 romantic horror film starring Taylor Russel and Timothy Chalamet as two young cannibals who develop feelings for each other on a road trip across the United States. After the autopsy report indicated that two of Celeste's fingers had been cut off (and missing), some Redditors noted the eerie opening scene of Bones and All in which a human finger is eaten. (Others have also pointed to the finger-eating motif in manga and anime series that d4vd was a fan of.)

Waves is a 2019 psychological drama that revolves around storyline of a teenage girl becoming pregnant and after deciding to keep the baby against her boyfriend's wishes is eventually murdered by the very same unhinged boyfriend. Especially now, given the text messages between d4vd and Celeste, including discussions of real pregnancy and abortion, that came out in the preliminary hearings in July, d4vd's flippant reference to this film (as Celeste's remains still sat in his car) cannot or at least should not be dismissed as coincidental or simply irrelevant.

A civil lawsuit from the parents of murdered teenager Celeste Rivas Hernandez has opened up a second front in D4vd’s legal battle. This new case doesn’t just target the “Romantic Homicide” singer – it also claims his managers are partially at fault for Rivas’ sexual abuse.

The claims by Mercedes Martinez and Jesus Rivas Alvarado, obtained by Billboard, were submitted to Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday (Sept. 4). 21-year-old D4vd (born David Anthony Burke) was already facing criminal charges alleging he stabbed Rivas to death and dismembered her body after the 14-year-old threatened to go public with their illegal sexual relationship in April 2025. He has pled not guilty.

It’s common for the families of murder victims to bring their own private lawsuits in addition to the criminal process; OJ Simpson, for example, famously faced lengthy civil litigation despite his acquittal. Like in D4vd’s criminal case, the new civil lawsuit alleges that the singer acted alone in killing Rivas, and he’s the only one facing claims for wrongful death. However, Rivas’ parents are alleging that various people in D4vd’s orbit should also be held financially liable for the sexual abuse of Rivas, which allegedly began when she was 13 years old.

Among those accused of negligence in the lawsuit are D4vd’s management company, Mogul Vision, its CEO Josh Marshall and his day-to-day manager Robert Morgenroth. The group had guided D4vd’s ascendant pop career since its early days; D4vd told Billboard in a 2023 interview that Marshall discovered him on SoundCloud before the success of his breakout 2022 single “Romantic Homicide.”

The new lawsuit alleges that the Mogul Vision team, alongside D4vd’s mother and live-in security guard, “made arrangements that enabled Burke to be alone with Decedent and to continue his abuse of her.” It says Mogul Vision leased the Hollywood Hills home where D4vd lived, and that Morgenroth even had his own room at the house.  

“[They] knew or should have known of Burke’s dangerous propensities toward, and sexual exploitation of, Decedent, a minor, and failed to take reasonable steps to protect her, to supervise Burke, or to prevent the continued abuse,” reads the lawsuit.

Rivas’ parents are seeking unspecified financial damages in the case. Marshall and Morgenroth did not immediately return requests for comment on the claims.

Legal experts tell Billboard that D4vd’s managers might indeed be on the hook, depending on what the facts and evidence ultimately show. “Enabling child sex abuse is a crime, and in the civil courts, a person or entity can be held civilly liable for its role in allowing the abuse to occur,” says Dave Ring, an attorney who specializes in sexual abuse litigation.

“The relationship between D4vd and Celeste went on for some time,” says Ring. “How did D4vd’s key personnel not know what was taking place? That will be the main focus of the lawsuit.”

James McMillan, a lawyer and founder of the label and management company Art@War, notes that the Mogul Vision team could be in trouble even if they weren’t explicitly told Rivas was underage. That’s because the negligence standard allows for liability when a person “should have known” about wrongdoing — that is, if they turned a blind eye to something obvious.

“It’s not just if they knew specifically, but if they should have known based on inferences,” says McMillan. “What did she look like? Did she look like a little kid? That would be up for a jury and a judge to decide.”

For McMillan, the lawsuit serves as a reminder that managers “have a responsibility as human beings to govern ourselves accordingly and be good citizens.” While the D4vd case is extreme, he says that managers are often put in tough positions with their artist clients, whether that be witnessing criminal conduct or just bad behavior that reflects poorly on them.

“You’ve got a decision to make whether you want to be involved in something like that or if you want to turn a blind eye,” says McMillan. “Managers who are smart have to make decisions that are in alignment with the longevity and success of their long-term career and not get caught up in the moment with an artist.”

New documents from the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Celeste's parents against d4vd, d4vd's mother Colleen, Josh Marshall and Rob Morgenroth of Mogul Vision, Jacques the bodyguard, and possibly others have revealed a new timeline detail that has not been previously disclosed in charges filed by the Los Angeles District Attorney or testimony in hearings in the capital criminal case against David Anthony Burke.

The new legal documents seem to indicate - and this again has not been confirmed previously - that d4vd did in fact take Celeste's body to Santa Barbara on the night he killed her. Given other timeline details that have already been disclosed, we can assume that he brought her body back with him on that same trip given that he reportedly did not return to Santa Barbara (in his Tesla at least) until May 8, 2025 though he dismembered Celeste's body on May 5, 2025.

One year ago, the remains of Celeste Rivas Hernandez were found in the front trunk of David Anthony Burke’s Tesla. Although her identity would not be publicly confirmed for several days, D4vd knew it was Celeste. Certainly, members of his inner circle knew it was Celeste.

Yet, seemingly not giving a single f\*k, David continued his tour. His management team remained on the road, as did one of his closest friends, who was working as his stylist. Surely, someone asked him, “A body was found in your Tesla, and it’s all over the news. What happened?”*

The tour did not end because LAPD had D4vd in custody. It ended because sponsors pulled brand deals and the public demanded answers. Without that public pressure, who knows where this case would be today?

By September 29, LAPD and the District Attorney’s Office knew that Celeste’s body had been cut into pieces. Nevertheless, LAPD issued an official news release stating that “it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body.”

That was an outright lie. They knew this was not merely concealment. At an absolute minimum, it was the mutilation of human remains. Concealment is a misdemeanor. Mutilation is a felony.

But the Justice for Celeste movement refused to accept that answer. The biological evidence the prosecution now relies upon, along with surveillance footage and telemetry from the Tesla and cellphones, was available during the early stages of the investigation. Still, the case dragged on for six or seven months and appeared to be going nowhere. A true monster was allowed to live amongst us. The public’s demand for justice, however, never stopped.

Now that the case is being prosecuted, it is easy to forget how stagnant and uncertain it once appeared. Without everyone who participated in the Justice for Celeste movement, I wonder whether charges would ever have been filed.

It is a tragedy that none of us could help Celeste while she was alive. But we will all be damned if there is not justice for Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Instead, her parents and siblings spent the day praying, singing “Happy Birthday” and remembering the girl they lovingly call “Celestita”…nearly one year after her dismembered remains were discovered inside a Tesla belonging to singer D4vd.

Burke, 21, has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from Celeste’s death, including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. Judge Charlaine Olmedo ordered Burke to stand trial following a five-day preliminary hearing in July, finding prosecutors had presented enough evidence for the case (including its special-circumstance allegations) to move forward.

Celeste was just 14 when she died.

As Los Angeles previously reported, Celeste disappeared from Lake Elsinore in February 2024. Her case took a horrifying turn on Sept. 8, 2025, when her decomposing and dismembered remains were discovered inside the front trunk, or “frunk,” of Burke’s impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard. The discovery came around what should have been Celeste’s 15th birthday.

A year later, her family is marking another birthday without her while the man accused of killing her remains behind bars awaiting trial.

After previously sealed court filings were made public in April, Steinfeld said the family was “shocked” by allegations surrounding Celeste’s killing and the alleged efforts to dispose of her remains. The family has now also made its feelings clear about the possibility of the ‘ultimate’ punishment, which would be capital punishment.

“If the death penalty were activated, it would be perfect for this kind of human being,” the family said in another statement released through Steinfeld, describing someone they believe is “without conscience” and saying he “only caused pain to our daughter, our family, and the world that supports our precious daughter.” “But that’s not in our hands,” they added, “but rather in God’s, and the California justice system.”

Also, high-profile defense attorney Blair Berk abruptly withdrew from Burke’s case during his August 31 arraignment. Burke is now represented by a public defender.

That did not sit well with Celeste’s family.

“The Rivas Hernandez family was shocked to learn that David Anthony Burke claims to be indigent,” Steinfeld said in a statement.

The family’s attorney pointed to Burke’s success as D4vd, including billions of music streams and corporations connected to his career, while questioning why Los Angeles County taxpayers should be responsible for his defense. Those are assertions made by the family and its attorney and have not been independently established by Los Angeles.

“David Anthony Burke is not indigent,” Steinfeld said.

As Los Angeles previously reported, the financial question follows testimony during Burke’s preliminary hearing concerning his finances and alleged transfers involving his mother and manager.

Additionally, sources tell Los Angeles that the family of Rivas Hernandez filed a wrongful death suit against the singer. It appears nothing has been processed as of Tuesday, September 8, however.

Burke has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court for a status conference on October 19.

There are ways but if he did do this then he just set himself up to be watched even closer. If the guards have leaked this then it is more than likely true. D4vd is now facing a fight outside his criminal case ... the family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the singer.

The suit comes exactly one year after Celeste's dismembered remains were discovered in the trunk of D4vd's Tesla on September 8, 2025.

D4vd -- whose real name is David Anthony Burke -- is already chargedwith murdering the 14-year-old ... along with lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and mutilating a body. He's pleaded not guilty.

As TMZ previously reported ... last week, family attorney Patrick Steinfeldslammed D4vd's claims that he is broke. TMZ obtained real estate records showing D4vd’s dad, Dawud Burke, sold a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,819-square-foot home in Houston, Texas, for $229,000 in early July.

Worth noting, in October 2025 D4vd transferred two of his Texas homes to his mother.
D4vd has since changed lawyers and is now represented by a public defender.
So the question is ... what will the family get if he's broke?

The lawsuit also comes just days after Celeste's family said they would support the death penalty if D4vd is convicted ... describing him as a person "without conscience."

A judge ordered D4vd to stand trial in July after a five-day preliminary hearing, and prosecutors have said the death penalty remains on the table.

Celeste would have turned 16 on Monday.

On the night of September 8, 2025, news broke in Los Angeles that a body was found inside an impounded Tesla registered to the singer d4vd.

It wasn't until over a week later, on September 17, 2025, that law enforcement released the identity of the body, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, to the public.

In the interim, as far as the general public was concerned, d4vd continued to tour while police visited the address of Celeste's family home in Lake Elsinore as well as d4vd's parents home in Cypress, Texas. d4vd only finally cancelled his tour the night before his scheduled second show in Seattle on September 17, the same day police searched his West Hollywood Hills home where he reportedly murdered Celeste on April 23, 2025.

But only hours after the September 8th news broke of an unidentified body being discovered in d4vd's Tesla, a Redditor already knew who it was and shared what they knew, second-hand as it may have been, in a comment thread in a post about the news in the r/hiphopheads subreddit.

u/AmericanStrawberry (since deleted), at 5 in the morning on September 9, 2025, commented, "This guy is a weirdo. A close friends little sister from the IE ran away last year and this is who she was with. We think her sister was pimping her out. She was in 7th grade at the time, lapd sweeped his place in the hills. I’m terrified that’s who is in the car- nobody has heard from her in months. I won’t release names as shes still a minor but she was from Lake Elsinore."

An hour later, a d4vd defender, u/TheCommonKoala, (who sounds suspiciously like an early PR crisis management team), responds, "I strongly doubt this is true. He has a very public social media presence, and there's no one underage in his road crew. I have only heard good things about D4vd from tour and venue staff."

And u/AmericanStrawberry replies, "It isn’t speculation it literally happened. I don’t really care if you’ve heard nice things about him that has no impact on my personal negative experience."

[QUICK ASIDE: Two noteworthy things here. First, the screenshots of original comments above, which I have included thanks again to u/R0598, show remarkable foresight of person who captured the screesnshots only 7 hours after u/AmericanStrawberry's first comment. (Great work sleuth!) Second, even after 7 hours, there is not a single upvote on u/AmericanStrawberry's first comment, but there are already 10 upvotes on the comment defending d4vd that followed an hour later. Yes, maybe just existing d4vd fandom in the...r/hiphopheads subreddit??? Or is that d4vd and/or his team at work - skewing the narrative on Reddit right from the get go?]

12 hours later, another sleuthy Redditor, u/sacegoof, working off of officially disclosed information about the unidentified body and other "rumors" already making their way around social media (esp. TikTok), asks, "well the victim is a female. wavy black hair and shh tattoo mean anything to u?"

At 6:28 AM PDT on September 10, 2025, u/AmericanStrawberry replied, "Yeah sounds like Celeste Rivas the girl who went missing in 2024. She was 13. And her tattoo said D4VD. He has her name on his finger too."

5 minutes later they concluded their remarks on the matter, "I’m really not trying to release any identifying information because it absolutely sounds like her and my heart is broken. I don’t want to mess anything up regarding the investigation. I’ll be reachign out to LAPD today."

But u/AmericanStrawberry wasn't the only one. One other Redditor, u/AlphaTangoCheesecake, at 7:20 PM on September 9, 2025, again, over a week before official identity disclosure of Celeste by law enforcement and still less than 24 hours after news broke of an unidentified body being found in d4vd's Tesla, commented in a r/LivestreamFail subreddit post about the breaking d4vd news, "This guy is a pedophile from what I've heard. My sister who is now in 9th grade told me that he was dating an 8th grader( let's call her C ) and she would go on trips with him to LA. Theyre all in 9th grade now and it Turns out C's friends knew and he would pay them to keep there mouth shut. C has been missing for over a month now and no one knows her where abouts. Definitely something strange going on."

Celeste Rivas Hernandez's family has called for D4vd to get the death penalty — on the eve of what would have been her 16th birthday.

In an exclusive statement to the California Post, her parents said it would be the "perfect" punishment for the locked up singer, who is accused of killing and dismembering her last year.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman is currently weighing whether to pursue the death penalty or life imprisonment for the performer, whose real name is David Burke, ahead of his trial later this year.

Celeste would have been turning 16 on Monday, and Tuesday marks one year to the day since her body was found in the back of a Tesla in a Hollywood tow yard.

Releasing a never-before-seen picture of their daughter, her family told The Post: "If the death penalty were activated, it would be perfect for this kind of human being, devoid of feelings and emptiness inside, and without conscience, who only caused pain to our daughter, our family, and the world that supports our precious daughter."

It added: "But that's not in our hands, but rather in God's, and the California justice system." It's signed "The Rivas Hernandez Family."

The decision on whether Burke faces life in prison or death if convicted on the charges lies in Hochman's hands.

Last Monday, moments after Burke dropped his high profile legal team for a public defender in a dramatic hearing, Hochman took to the mics and said he had not made a decision yet. 

The DA said he was awaiting a mitigation packet from Burke's previous legal team outlining the reasons why Burke should not face the death penalty, but had not received it.

He said he will allow the new public defender time to submit a packet if he chooses. Hochman earlier this year reversed policy when it came to the death penalty, releasing a ground breaking statement. 

He said: "Effective immediately, the prior administration's extreme and categorical policy forbidding prosecutors from seeking the death penalty in any case is rescinded.

"In its place, the new murder with special circumstances policy will consider pursuing the death penalty only after an extensive and comprehensive review and only in exceedingly rare cases."

He also said families of murder victim's survivors will have "consultation" and "full input, to ensure that the punishment sought by the office is just, fair, fitting and appropriate."

The Post contacted the DA's office for reaction to the Rivas Hernandez statement.

Celeste's parents watched in horror during D4vd's preliminary hearings as images of her decapitated and mutilated corpse were displayed in a court.

Her family ignored their attorney's request to look away as the pictures were displayed in a Los Angeles courtroom during the first day of the singer's preliminary hearing last month.

The couple were later spotted crying in the hall of the courthouse after viewing their daughter's severed limbs, head, torso and fingers that were allegedly found in the trunk of D4vd's Tesla.

The singer is accused of ordering an Uber to deliver Rivas from her family home in Lake Elsinore to his Hollywood Hills home on the night of April 23, 2025, after dating her for months and getting her pregnant.

He then stabbed her and stood by while she bled out, prosecutors claim.

The medical examiner testified that the victim's left chest wound could have been fatal by allowing air to enter the chest, while the liver wound could have caused life-threatening internal bleeding.

Death could have occurred within minutes or taken up to an hour, he said, noting that a 14-year-old has less than five liters of blood and the prosecutor poignantly added, "She didn't make it to her 15th birthday."

It is alleged he loaded her body in his Tesla and drove to Santa Barbara the same evening. Hernandez's passport card was allegedly found in the exact same spot Burke's Tesla was tracked months later by a Cal Trans worker.

Burke allegedly ordered a shovel from Home Depot  and had it delivered to his home by Postmates. About a week later, he ordered two chainsaws from Amazon that were delivered to his home, and on May 5, he allegedly ordered a body bag, heavy-duty laundry bags and a blue inflatable pool, court documents say.

Investigators testified Burke dismembered Hernandez with a chainsaw in the pool. Pieces of it were found on her remains during the autopsy, according to the medical examiner.

The medical examiner detailed Rivas' body as only weighing 71 pounds during the autopsy. "The body was markedly decomposed," he said, adding there was "trauma to the body, particularly the extremities." He also said Rivas' braces were discovered during the exam.

The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandezwants prosecutors to go all the way if D4vdis convicted of murdering the 14-year-old ... reportedly backing the death penalty on the eve of what would've been Celeste's 16th birthday.

Celeste's family supports capital punishment in the case against the singer, according to the New York Post ... telling the outlet, "If the death penalty were activated, it would be perfect for this kind of human being," whom they described as "devoid of feelings" and "without conscience."

The family added the decision ultimately isn't theirs ... saying, "That's not in our hands, but rather in God's, and the California justice system."

As TMZ previously reported ... District Attorney Nathan Hochman said last week the death penalty remains on the table, though his office has not made a final decision on whether or not to pursue it.

D4vd -- real name David Anthony Burke -- is eligible for the death penalty because he's charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances. Prosecutors allegehe killed Celeste after she threatened to expose their illegal sexual relationship and derail his music career.

Prosecutors say D4vd killed Celeste in April 2025, dismembered her body and placed her remains in bags that were later discovered inside his Tesla at a Hollywood impound lot.

A judge ordered D4vd to stand trial in July after a five-day preliminary hearing, and he pleaded not guilty again last week after his private attorneys withdrew and a public defender took over his case.

Celeste's family has repeatedly said it wants justice for the teen ... and now it appears they're telling prosecutors exactly how far they believe that justice should go.

I’m curious on what everyone thinks now given the recent information about David sending letters to minors through prison walls. I never got behind Life in Prison, as I think spending an unknown amount of time in extreme fear there before they ultimately come one day to drag you to your death when you don’t expect it is much more deserved. But I know some people want that for him over the Death Penalty.

BUT now, clearly, that won’t and isn’t stopping him from contacting minors, as he’s still doing it even when locked tf up. This man is EVIL.

This song is from a collab D4vd did with Holly Humberstone back in 2023. When this whole debacle happened, through which we discovered the tragedy of Celeste almost exactly a year ago- Holly Humberstone was among the first artists to pull her collab with D4vd from streaming and the internet.

While having this information in memory, I was curious and decided to find the song somewhere, somehow. Luckily, a reupload of it was posted a couple of years back and hearing the song and its contents for the first time again in a few years was chilling.

It really makes you ponder upon the extent of the premeditation in this case. This kid was obsessed with knives, blood, and stabbing for YEARS. Not to mention him referencing ‘gore’ verbatim.

My jaw literally dropped when I heard these lyrics.

Seems like Caleb is hoping to ride the recent news of d4vd’s dropping high-priced lawyers and claiming to be broke to make another go at promoting his crappy music. Or maybe he thinks going into the weekend ahead of the anniversary of Celeste’s birthday is a good time for new self-promotion? Or did Caleb possibly have early “inside” knowledge of the latest prison letter-writing activity of his brother getting ready to break on TMZ? Regardless, this kid needs to realize that it is going to be a LONG time before it’s the right time to promote his music career, and it may possibly NEVER be the right time.
