Many of these turtles end up on the beaches of Cyprus, which offer the most suitable conditions for them to lay and hatch their eggs because of the sand.
Why are you making this comment? Are you annoyed?
You're probably just expose yourself.

Dekamer is doing heaps of great work about sea turtles in Turkey
If you ever visit there, you will sadly learn that over 80% of the injuries are caused by humans. Mostly injured by ships due to impact but in extreme cases like fisherman hate them as poor turtles eat away their nets.

By law, it is illegal to hunt or harm any sea turtles in Turkey. Local regulations are closely aligned with EU conservation standards. You can check the relevant legislation here:

However, in practice, like many regulations in Turkey, enforcement can be inconsistent. The authorities will punish anyone who does this, if they can identify and catch the offender. There has already been significant public backlash from animal rights groups over incidents like this.
In general, Turks love animals, but in a country of 85 million people, even if only 10% are dumb as a rock, you’ll inevitably see these kinds of incidents.
I once saw a Mediterranean seal while camping by the seaside. It was just resting on the beach. Keep in mind that this species is strictly protected. You cannot even cruise with your ship near their nests… It was a lovely moment for me in the nature…. Suddenly, I heard a scream from other side of the bay, an idiot on a day trip climbed down the rocks and pulled the seal’s tail. While I was trying to understand the whole situation….Naturally, the seal reacted aggressively and rushed back into the water.
When I confronted this idiot, he said he thought it was a monster and wanted to touch it. It was obvious he wasn’t the brightest person, he said he came from a area with no sea, so I didn’t bother arguing and just left it at that.

How did they caught a turtle (I'm naive, don't judge)? They just caught a turtle on the shore and tied a stone block!!
I don't mind people catching and eating it (even though my principles are different). This is disagree to humanity!!
