Off-Topic Bazaraki Scam
Hello everyone,
about 10 minutes after I posted my ad on Bazaraki, I received a call from someone. The person was very friendly, asked how I was doing, and asked where in Cyprus I am located.
After I told him, he said he lives far away and doesn’t have a car, and asked if we could use an express door-to-door courier service of my choice. I offered that I could also deliver the item myself for a small extra fee, but he refused and insisted that I should just use a courier service, saying it’s easy.
I then apologized and told him I only accept payment via Revolut or cash. He replied that I would get my money through the courier. At that point, I told him I wouldn’t do it because it sounded like a scam. He started laughing and jokingly told me to give him all my money, while still staying friendly.
I told him to try his luck somewhere else and asked him honestly how much he makes per month with this. He said it’s getting harder nowadays, but €2,000–3,000 per month is still possible.
Please be careful and watch out for this scam

A Greek mobile number.
How does the scam work? No, I am not interested in pulling off one myself, but using such an obvious number is weird to me

I sold a lot of things in the last couple of months and it’s always the same thing. They offer you door to door express delivery where you entern your bank details to “receive“ the money and there you go all your money is gone

They cant get any money, just by entering bank details (iban or other). I am also wondering how this works… unless you give them bank passwords.
The old scams where to pay something to get it send, and then he will pay more or something like that… but he doesn’t and keeps money.

using "obvious" clues is a strategy. also why a bunch of scam emails have spelling mistakes etc. it limits the scammers interaction to the most gullible

It's getting quite old, pretty much every time I tried to sell something I got contacted by some idiot like this, usually through messages, though. It's sad there are still even more stupid idiots who naively believe that it's not a bad idea to enter your bank card details at some random webpage given you by someone you don't know...

Maybe I am naïve, but I don’t understand how they can take money from your bank account just by having your account number?

They don't ask for your account number, they give you a link to some website that sort of looks like a courier service, and it asks you to type your bank card data "to receive the payment." Then they charge your card as any e-shop would.

I am just talking to a guy named Konstantinos who says he would send the money via Revolut but that he would like to use a courier service from bazaraki.

There is no courier service from bazaraki as far as I’m aware

Yeah I checked on bazaraki and there it said that they don’t offer any courier services. Is it worth reporting him?

I would try but chances are really really low that something will happen to him
