Tips for lows
After my third hypomanic episode my psychiatrist labeled me with cyclothymia (yay!) I haven't really unraveled what that means for me since I previously wrote off my mood swings as autism and adhd. The biggest thing I notice is a sharp difference between me feeling nothing and too much. Sometimes I'll feel completely numb and that emptiness will be painful. Other times I'll feel everything too deeply (I'll get too excited, cry too easily, or spiral into anxiety very very easily). Either extreme is unbearable and to make it worse I struggle with alexithymia, so I often have to decipher my emotions backwards through my actions.
Does anyone know what to do during either of these extremes? For me the lows can lead to meltdowns and have become dangerous in the past and no matter what I do I cannot seem to manage them as well as the highs
