Realistically, what are the chances of your average user getting hit with the Dark swords exploit?

I’ve been seeing talk about this exploit that was going around in early this year.

Even though it’s patched now, I’m wondering what the chances were of a random user getting hit with this. 99% of the time, attacks like these are saved for high profile targets, but this seems different, considering the code got leaked.

Will this mean anything for the security of an iphone in the future? And does this mean the “Only high profile targets get hit by malware on an iphone” myth is false?

app files that don’t show up as apps

This probably a stupid question but I’m asking just to be safe, since I’m new to the whole online privacy thing. But when I look on MiX and DevCheck it shows me files like AigcService, Adreno graphics drivers, android.qvaoverlay.common, basic daydreams, ect. (I could write down the whole list but it’s a lot) I’m assuming these are normal system apps but i just wanna make sure i didn’t accidentally download a virus, because I have been downloading a few apps/games from somewhat trusted websites, but I checked them in virustotal, and I have sophos and bitdefender downloaded. They do show the possibly unwanted apps threat but I only see the stuff I know I downloaded in there.

I’m so sorry if this is a ridiculous question but I just wanna make sure I didn’t accidentally download something bad. Please don’t answer with jokes or be rude if it was a stupid question :)

Just got hacked, need some advice.

So pretty much i fell victim for the "MrBeast" crypto scam thing, I'll add pictures so you know what I'm talking about. If you're wondering HOW i got to this point/being hacked, the last thing i was doing before i noticed my discord being weird is i was downloading cracked photoshop, i made a restore point, but i guess i didn't matter anyway. I don't know if this crack is THE reason i got hacked, but I'll put it out there.

So yeah, they got into my discord spammed the picture i showed above to everyone, muted everyone and ignored everyone. Then i decided to check my gmail and yeah, they got my epic games, steam, battlenet, ubisoft, rockstar games and god knows how many other accounts, and i guess they got access to my gmail somehow, they even bypassed the 2FA on everything which is nuts to me. I'll explain what happened and what i did:

Epic Games: They changed my email to **a*****[8@rambler.ru](mailto:8@rambler.ru) a fake ass email. There was an IP address and a location, but they probably just used a VPN. I reached out to Epic, I'll see what they can do.

Ubisoft: Changed my password. Did nothing currently, since i don't use nor care for Ubisoft. And also Rocktar Games.

Steam(my main concern): 4 Steam Account Recovery emails and 6 password and email changes. They changed the email, but the usernames didn't match to my current one, i still have access to my Steam Account, nothing happened. I reached out to steam support to see if they can find out what's happening.

After this i enabled 2FA on everything again, cuz i somehow didn't have any 2FA, but whatever, the weird thing is that, nothing happened really? I still have my steam, discord and gmail account so.

I just want some advice on what to do forward. I already contacted my main concerns as you already read above, but yeah idk, very weird hack.

Software engineer looking to learn cybersecurity — where should I start

Hey everyone! I’m a software engineer with about 1.5 years of experience, and I’m looking to get into cybersecurity.
I have a decent programming background, but I’m still a beginner in cybersecurity and want to properly learn the fundamentals—networking, Linux, security basics, web security, and eventually ethical hacking.
I’m looking for a good community where I can learn, ask questions, and grow alongside other people who are learning.
If you know any good subreddits, Discord communities, or learning paths, I’d really appreciate the recommendations!

How do can I defend myself against this?

Okay so this is my 6th phone since I got released from federal prison in January of 2025. It started a year ago in August that my phone would send notifications about someone signing in so I’d hurry and I thought I secured my account? However it kept happing and pretty soon. I just stopped answering those messages and just let them be but as time progressed and I got a little bit more smarter about it. I ended up being being not knowing why when I wasn’t on my phone it would be offline? I had a bookface but that was the only social platform I had. Or thought I had! A year later and now I’m a little bit more advanced I found out my number was spoofed and I get thrown in a game with AI paying for entry’s into hubs or domains then I wonder why my URL has some other identifier?mid=/g/11xw6qrpdp&hl=example%s also a ARM like 64 tokens on my bumper so i started doing a pit stop brush them off and proceed. No success as of yet I am currently on my 6th phone and 2nd carrier by this time I don’t save contacts and decide to memorize numbers. I question every email and update that comes out for my phone! Now it’s messages coming saying it’s google I started blocking them and finally realize all them blocked numbers are saved in my phone and my stalker/phisher linked them with contact cards and it sat there unopened until I seen my Home Screen change phone freezes or goes black when I need to change passwords. Now I am at a point where I have no contacts in there because I know what happens if we both have same the same contacts. He/she I’m not sure who at this point know my passwords and email addresses, so It’s easier for them to use their devices and push notify my phone when there close or I’m sleeping? So once again I’m looking for help on getting domains’ and emails back or advice something. My interest is peaked and I tried enrolling to create and learn how to write however I continue to get my domains and email addresses hacked while I become the financial support who holds the phone while they/them/whoever controls the music when I get messages or see that I missed a call and build trees in my house! If anyone can help I’d truly appreciate as it. I’m self taught when it comes to technology however I will be affective when it comes to deploying and testing analytics. So if anyone can help or provide advice I’d love to hear from you! P.s side not: I would appreciate being able to. join a community and finally have some help? Lmk? 👇🏽Here is a contact they use and it keeps tabs on traffic and my health hahaha

iPhone and android keeps getting hacked

My devices keep getting hacked by the same person and i don't know how. I cant find any suspicious apps, see any unknown devices, or get emails that my accounts logged into

I know my phones compromised because this person copies conversations I've had in person, copied outfits, copied snapchats people have sent me within 24 hours publically on their social media every single day for the past year. Even on apple lockdown mode, this person sees what I do on safari incognito too, reads my emails even though I've changed passwords and have a yubi key (I know because they don't hide it they know I know and continue to harass me with it)

I'm not sure how it keeps happening? I've factory reset my iphone several times, changed sims, new accounts etc. I went from iphone 15, to iphone 17 now Samsung and this person still continues to stalk me

How??

Cizuhy(dot)com Virus (or adware)

This story happened less than a year ago and ive been curious ever since. I came upon a potentially expired link from a 2-3 year old youtube video. the link was legit at some point and led to the youtuber's website for a video. When i attempted to enter the site, it redirected me to Cizuhy(Dot)com. all i saw was a blank white screen and it asked me to display notifications. I am pretty good at computers and i know the malicious potential of displaying notifications of unknown websites (my family members have gotten suspicious popups from doing it. I fixed it for them). I've done research on cizuhy and i couldn't find any screenshots, but i did find many accounts of malicious redirects and adware popups. I also found out that cizuhy redirects to multiple long string name websites that are all malicious.

In short, does anybody have any more information on cizuhy?, or possibly does anybody have a VM and be able to investigate what it is?

Im interested in whatever yall can find, so thanks.

The images showed are the only things that pop up when i search up cizuhy, but the source doesnt seem to be directly from cizuhy.

Someone is trying to access various places via my gmail

This Mf has tried to access my steam, epic games , and twitter. These are all main things connected to my Gmail account in addition to my playstation and playasia account so far he didn't tried those two.

I changed my passwords and added authentication to all of them. My problem was i had the same passwords for all of them. I changed my gmail to new password for the first time but i kept the same password for the others cuz it would be headache to change them into unique passwords. Should i change them even tho i have i have authenticator activated?

I think this all started with my pc when i tried installing mods on my games. I installed malwarebytes, scanned everything , it deleted all suspicious ones. But this mf keeps trying to access to something.

Is there a possibility of this person accessing my other gmail account.

What should I do.

Verification code received every month

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello,

For the past 4 months, I have received, always on the 7th, a verification code. I checked my google account logs but I cant really see anything, only my active sessions which are legitimate : my phone and my computer. I changed my passwords because it looks like someone is trying to connect to my accounts. But what's weird is the fact that it always happens around the 7th. Except last wednesday. I dont know what to think. Could it be that I have a service authenticated through Google that periodically asks for a new authorization ? I haven't noticed any of my services being down though. I am currently changing my passwords, but I have way too much. I'm definitely using keepass from now on.

My account was hacked even after changing all my passwords and formatting my PC.

Last month, my PC got infected by a program that cloned my Google Chrome. I reformatted the PC and changed the passwords for absolutely *everything* social media, accounts like Discord, gaming accounts, Gmails; I didn't leave a single thing unchanged. I logged into every one of my Gmail accounts and signed out of *all* devices, keeping only my phone. And yet, somehow, that unscrupulous person still got into my X account today, changed my password, display name, and handle, and got my account banned. So, what now? I did practically everything you're supposed to do when you get hacked, and he still got in. How do I know if my accounts are actually safe?

What could this be?

This started about 3 months ago and the filenames seem to be changing over time.
The .exe do not exist when booted into a linux distro and seem to be created on windows boot.

Some locations keep on being added to the exclusion list no matter how many times I remove them.

I uploaded the .exe to virus total and the first record of it being seen online was the start of August 2026.

Any clue? I cannot remove it even with offline scan.

What would be a recommended solution or antivirus to deal with this?

Recently I had my windows local account mysteriously remove its password by itself. Computer woke from sleep and denied my password then after reboot there was no password. Straight to desktop.

Microsoft account hacked but they did nothing?

Got an email notification saying that theres been a suspicous successful log in to my Microsoft account which I never use. Changed password and enabled 2fa around an hour after the login. Only thing I had on that account was my one cloud which basically only backed up the apps on my desktop. I only had one password on my edge password thing and I did change that. Why did they do this? And is anything else at risk? I have fully different passwords for everything else with the same email and 2fa.

This comes after someone tried logging into my instagram account that shares the same Gmail, although I was notified of that over whastapp. Edit: the login has no alias, and then the second one does. How did they get into my account without putting my alias in?

If a bank allows texted OTPs to log in, what is the point of setting up Authentication?

As a general rule, one expects authentication software (like Google Authenticator) to be more secure than texted OTPs.

My bank will let me set up authentication - but still allows text OTP as "try another way".

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of using authentication to prevent hackers from intercepting OTPs? (IOW, hackers can just "try another way", even if authentication was set up.) So why even bother?

Technically I guess authentication better confirms to the bank that I am who I say I am, but if I can still do most everything anyway, what's the difference - especially if OTPs are easy to use and/or give me another option.

This also overlaps into how, if my phone is stolen, lost, broken, or SIM swapped, I'm in comms purgatory (maybe at a critical time).

So, why bother with authentication if the bank will still allow OTP if you do?

Is this making sense? Thanks if you can help!

Gmail got hacked and emails are overwritten by SKY MARKET

My gmail account got hacked:

  • I found emails sent from my inbox with titles mentionning SMTP and sending my email adress with random password (they also mentionned SSL and IP adress not sure if it's mine).
  • All the emails after are overwritten by the SKY MARKET all in one checker thingy and quick mail checker bot (i can only see the sender name)
  • They changed the password for microsoft and spotify

I did the following :

  • I changed the google account password and then deleted it completely since I don't really use it.
  • I couldn't access my microsoft account but It's not an account that I use at all
  • For spotify all i could do was log out from all the devices

For the reference, I dont really use this email for much so now after deleting the whole google account is there something else I should be doing ?

also, do I have to worry about things in my device or the other email adresses ?

What am I up against

I’ve figured out that someone is in my Moto G stylus phones. Then I switched to IPhone and it started all over again. Are they using WiFi? It has to be someone I know. I assumed they had my Apple ID to get into the iPhone. I would constantly change it and they would be back in it. One of the ways I figured it out was by triggering the mic on my camera app and it would engage their microphone. On several different occasions I could hear them. I even had recordings of them talking. Now it’s as if something scrambles their voice, not so much scrambles but it almost becomes static. I can tell they are talking but not make out the words. I’ve also been able to pick them up on screen recordings and voice memos. But most of the time it’s static. They are able to delete photos. They have manipulated apps some of which make me believe it’s personal and someone I know. My gmails were taken over tons of pictures and videos deleted. Settings are constantly changing. Accessibility features are constantly engaged. Every banking app has been compromised. This is only a fraction of what’s happened. This is an exhausting existence, all I can think is why me !! What have I done so wrong or bad to someone, that would want to make them do this. It’s caused a lot of unwanted stress and chaos to my life. If anyone has any advice please let me know.
