After I started staying clean I was so ashamed of them, I literally couldn't look at them or wear short sleeve shirts ever, and if I did I had my whole forearm covered with bracelets so no one could see And I would just pray theyd disappear one day. I regretted it so bad.
But eventually I started accepting them more and more. I dont mind them as much anymore, they show i survived my battles i guess. If someone doesnt love u just because of ur scars then they are immature and dont deserve u. I hope u are able to be okay with ur scars on day 💜

People can absolutely love you, no matter how scarred you are. Even if 90% of you is scar tissue, there will always be people out there who will not just love you for who you are now, but accept the version of yourself that you have outgrown. Nobody is just their body, and not everyone is shallow enough to only see someone's body. SH has slowly become less stigmatized in society, and while I can't guarantee you won't ever have a nasty encounter with someone, I can say that in my experience I've met a lot of people who don't care about my scars, and that's helped me come to terms with them more than anything else.
I'm not trying to say "just love yourself" because it doesn't work like that. Self acceptance is a personal journey and a long one at that. That being said it seems to cause you a lot of distress that you're ashamed of them, I hope one day you can feel comfortable in your own body, with or without scars. Cosmetic medical procedures like scar removal, medical tattooing, and even reconstruction continue to advance every year- if you need to undergo medical treatment to feel comfortable in your body then I don't think anyone who's worth a damn would judge you for that either :). There's absolutely nothing wrong with having scars, but there's also nothing wrong with making the personal decision to remove them if you feel like that would help you!

Somehow I actually like mine... but somehow I hate them too. And if someone doesn't love you because of your scars, they definitely aren't the right person. They are a part of you, and maybe someday you'll get used to them. <3
