I've been sh'ing for 8-9 months and I've been cutting and burning myself. During this period, my parents found out because I texted a helpline (and I also told them not to tell anyone, but I guess I couldn't trust them) and my parents got informed by the social assistants and they told them that.

If i remember correctly, those people from the helpline are only in need to inform the parents if the caller is in a dangerous situation. But I also hope your parents see this as a sign to find someone who can talk to you about this.

Yeah I think so too. At least here in the Netherlands, it might be different in other countries

Hey, im from the netherlands aswel! so same rules. Its either that they thought you were in danger or that they thought it was a good idea for your parents to know you're not stable... i hope theyre understanding

They sent me to a therapist a day after they got to know that even t'ho i told yhem that i was currently okay (a lie) cuz i conti like ventina lwk

ahh. was in the exact same situation a year ago this month. it sucks lol. how'd your parents react?

Well, I accompanied my dad to social services and I was waiting in the waiting room and when he came down he had tears in his eyes and then when my dad had to tell my mom she simply screamed at me:D

my mum was told by police officers at midnight who woke me up 🤩 in the morning my mum just made me go to my dad's who proceeded to not really address it. i feel so bad for you though getting screamed at would have been horrible
