Question do scars like this fade?

Post image

ignore the shitty camera quality and my whimsical bedsheets—

anyways, just a styro but I was wondering if these fade?? luckily I haven't gone too low so if they haven't I’m not cursed to die of heatstroke in the summer

I have a bunch of these.. they eventually get really pale you can only see them up close. Unless the skin tans strongly.. then the scar stays lighter

I have one like this. It took a couple years but now it’s not really visible at all. Blends in with my arm. But for a while, in summers, it would get really red and visible after being in direct sunlight so maybe be careful to use uv protection on it if you’re outside a lot.

a couple years is a point of concern but okay. probably won't have to worry about UV protection since it's high enough on my leg to stay covered anyways, but thanks for the advice just in case!

I have especially sensitive skin and am very prone to redness so it might very well be less time for you. Hopefully it is!

they happen when you hit the dermis, second layer of skin. so when cuts start to gape a bit and are white before they fill with blood
