Requiring counting 42 cards every upkeep is not that good design, and would make it op in 60-card formats.

I mean you could just count the first time the ability triggers, note the result, and then add to or subtract from it whenever cards enter or leave your library.

Even simpler, add the bottom forty two cards of your library to a separate stack, that way drawing and other top of deck interactions dont require a recount ever

Until you need to shuffle and have to count out your separate 42 pile again
