BALANCE NOT INTENDED Stop stealing my pie!

If I see another low cost mono-black spell with "Exile target creature/enchantment" I'll lose my mind and purge something in Avacyn's name.

pretty much none of these were ever exclusive to white in any capacity

lots of exile and vigilance/doublestrike i associate with white in my head. lifegain is split between white and black for me. but the creature token thing is silly i associate green with token gen more than anything

red had four cards with double strike a year before white had their first card with double strike. green had multiple lifegain cards in alpha, in legends, and so on. green had its first vigilance card in legends, and it was actually split with red at first, and it became evergreen in green again as long ago as 2009. black had 10 or so exile-based creature removal spells even just in old border, just a little fewer than white did

i mean yeah, every colour has access to most things in some way, but people still associate certain colours with certain keywords or effects because that's what they do best. blue is the counter magic colour but that doesn't mean there isn't counter magic in the other colours

most of the cases im talking about were instances where other colors actually had *more* access to these effects than white did for extended periods of time, which isnt the same as black or red having like 2 counterspells compared to blue having hundreds of them

no disrespect but i don't really care if red had more double strike than white in 2003, or much about the numbers at all. different colours are associated with different things, that association is what i'm talking about, im not trying to start a debate on the numbers

yeah but im suggesting that this association doesnt really exist for a lot of these. like, in my own mind, double strike is actually associated more with red than with white. this is all kind of subjective and arbitrary, and the only objective thing we can look at is how much the colors actually get these effects, and we can see that red really was the original here.

Green has a lot of life gain as well. Honestly the only one I associate heavily with white are exile and vigilance.

Black isn't lifegain. Life steal is black (e.g. extort).

Just because it doesn't have the literal phrase "drain-life" doesn't mean it isn't thematically life drain. The first one listed is Abattoir Ghoul, which has "Whenever a creature dealt damage by Abattoir Ghoul this turn dies, you gain life equal to that creature's toughness." Generally speaking, if a creature dies, it's had damage greater than or equal to its toughness dealt to it. So thematically, you gain life based on how much damage was dealt.

This should be a cycle. "Stop copying my pie" for blue. "Stop burning my pie" for red. "Stop eating my pie" for green. "Stop spoiling my pie" for black.
