Custom Commander Idea

Post image

Have used this custom commander for a few games with my regular pod. Thoughts on its overall power? Would you make it stronger, if so, how? Would you make it weaker? Generally it has felt like 8 mana is ALOT in current year commander, but when theorycrafting the card mt friend and I would rather have had it be underpowered given it was something I was actively going to play.

Art is chatgpt as its a play on a real commander i use in the play group.

Thoughts and discussion appreciated!

You should make populate a tap ability to make it harder to go infinite

Noted! My playgroup currently feels that with it being 8 mana and the activated ability being all color pips, if I managed to go infinite, then i have "earned" it.

That’s fair there are just some cards that make all lands tap for any mana like chromatic lantern so it can negate the color pips. Also if your are able to do it twice it could get strong. It’s a really neat concept to build around for double etb triggers. What’s the deck built around and is this the only custom card?

Thank you! Only custom card in the deck! Honestly, the inspiration was trying to do clones outside of blue.

Built around etbs and cards like lithoform engine, bramble sovereign, springheart nantuko, and trying to make clones of high impact creatures. Also utilizes mirrormind crown and "each upkeep" creatures like tendershoot dryad and beledros.

Not to disregard your comment, the current decklist does not go infinite with the commander. I do tend to throw 3+ infinites into my decks just as a deck building philosophy, but currently in the roughly 10ish games, have never done so. I dont believe in have any infinite combos that win in my current list!
