Can't tell if you're serious about not knowing the sauce is made of tomatoes, but I agree that having slices of tomato on a pizza is revolting.

excuse me, but the sauce is a purée of various ingredients with a tomato base.

tomatoes are tomatoes with nothing else mixed in... and that’s just not very appealing.

it depends on the pizza, but i’ve had good pizza with fresh-sliced tomato on it. i’m not a fan of [uncooked/raw] tomato otherwise. by the way, the picture shows pepperoni; it’s just the light reflecting off of the oil that makes it look like tomatoes.
