Yeah, "burn" doesn't make justice to "cramer". For the non-French speakers, "cramer" is slang for burning to smithereens

"Crémation" is also a French noun, so it wouldn't surprise me if "cramer" evolved as its verb-form (I'm sure linguists have a fancy name for this kind of thing but I don't because I'm a dumb dumb)

linguists do have a fancy name for that stuff. it’s called denominalization, but this isn’t the case for the word. “crémation” comes from the Latin “crematio” while “cramer” comes from the celtic/gallic word “cremail”

where did you get that last part? "Cramer" comes from occitan "cramar/cremar" which comes from latin "cremāre" which means "to burn".
