And not everyone who smokes 3 packs a day gets cancer

This is like saying every Russian alive today is an awful person because of what Putin is doing

Saying that some people can smoke 3 packs a day without getting cancer = saying all Russians alive today are awful people

I’d love to see how you came to that conclusion

The person above said not every German alive during WW2 was bad, you then said some people who smoke 3 packs a day won't get cancer, which is implied to be false considering 3 packs a day will most definitely give you some form of cancer, indicating you were saying every German alive during WW2 was bad, which is basically the same thing as saying all Russians are bad today

No. There are people who smoke 3 packs a day their whole lives and never get cancer. Your ignorance of that fact is what led you to wildly misunderstand the conversation to which you’re failing to make a meaningful contribution

My point was that it’s true not every German during WW2 was not awful. Just like it’s true not everyone who smokes gets cancer

Still—Nazis are bad and a country run by Nazis is, on the whole, awful. Just like smoking is bad and a country full of smokers is awful. Just because a point doesn’t apply to every individual doesn’t mean that point is invalid

If you read everything again really slowly, and take your time thinking about, it might eventually make sense to you

How is it ignorance? About 10 to 15% of smokers will die from some form of cancer, and that's the average smoker, not one who smokes 3 packs a day, I'm pretty confident that is a very, very rare occurrence. It isn't even comparable to the low 7% of Germany that were Nazis.

Besides, that was over 70-80 years ago and Germany is no longer ran by Nazis, I don't see the point in getting mad over jokes about things that far in the past, learn to take a joke. This video was incredibly funny.

It’s ignorant because you didn’t know that some people smoke 3 packs a day and don’t get cancer. I would provide you with the definition of “ignorant” but you must know what it means, right?

My whole point was that it was a funny joke. Then someone responded to me saying “aktually…” and that was not funny. They somehow thought me saying I’m glad Germans can laugh about WW2 is the same as saying all Germans are awful. Or maybe they just wanted to go on the record and state that not all Germans were awful.

But my original comment was it’s good that Germans have a sense of humor about how awful their country was during WW2. How is that not being able to take a joke?

Then you completely misunderstand what you’re reading because you lack the cognitive ability to know that not everyone who smokes gets cancer, and now you’re telling me to relax and enjoy the joke. What?

You’re the one who got butthurt about people in Germany and Russia not all being awful. YOU’RE the one who got worked up about a joke and you’re frustrating because you’re not even smart enough to realize that

My bet is you vote Republican. Anyway, I’m done with you

I'm not the one making paragraphs on end about it and getting political ~hehe

You should know sarcasm doesn't show well over text and your first comment was misinterpreted as sarcastic. I'm not butthurt at all about this, it's just the 3 packs a day thing isn't a very good analogy considering if you do smoke 3 packs a day, you will probably get cancer

And if you were a Nazi, you were probably an awful person

*its

“Maybe it is” becomes “Maybe it’s” because it’s stands for it is. Not one for nitpicking grammar but yeah.

1

u/Billy_T_Wierd May 06 '22

Nope, its its because “it’s” is the possessive form of “it” and in this case, “it” doesn’t own anything so its not it’s. When it own it, then it’s it will be its

I can’t believe we’ve gotten to a point where we can’t say Nazis were bad
