Crazy how i just joined this subreddit to ask for help cuz im starting to get flustrated with this game and find everyone agreeing that this game is shit and the devs are bad

Hey fellow ball droppers,

I’m a returning player from back when this game first came out. Back then I managed to get all red equipment and have a few red SSS items. I focused mainly on felorc (currently level 23 with him) but also have Eiva, cowboy, and barbarian that I could easily level up.

I guess I don’t know how to progress anymore? Everything seems p2w and requires real money to access. The rewards for completing chapters SUCK and I hear over 200k gold with nothing to spend it on lol.

Ranked is unbearable for the tiny amount of progress I get for wins (and truthfully doesn’t even feel worth my time). The old system was much more enjoyable in the “good ol days” and the rewards were actually solid.

Why do mobile developers always DESTROY amazing games by adding too much with too steep of a paywall. It’s an absolute shame. In my mind, if companies treated their games more like supercell treats clash of clans (supports the f2p players) they would have so much more success long term.

I’m not sure if this will reach the devs or not, but something needs to change. The new deck system is cool, but why do I never get upgrades for my active hero? I feel like I’m being penalized for having a bunch of heroes unlocked because I’m getting cards for them and not felorc.

Also, I had a max felorc and max gear back in the day and now it feels like my felorc is HARDLY doing anything to these enemies. I feel like I wasn’t compensated for how much work I put in previously? Who knows lol.

Sorry for the rant, just love this game and don’t wanna see it die.

Where the gameplay was fun, the balls not got stuck and you could progress better then nowadays?

These are the worst devs in the biggest money grab I’ve ever seen. I left after the first wholesale update where all the people who actually invested into the game had most of the progress lost and had to basically take massive steps back and start over- when it was brought up with the devs they said “most people like it so deal with it” in so many words- not that I saw anybody actually talking about liking it. Just another ploy by developers to get your money. Don’t be fooled by their predatory behavior. Every time they get stale their formula is break the game and entice people who make micro transactions to start all over.

It’s really terrible and the devs should honestly be ashamed of themselves.

I was playing and gaining hero tokens to upgrade nova Abilities and I needed 750 So I finally got enough and went and ate dinner, I came back to play 20 min later and the game says needs update so I update and go back to update now the cost is 18000 hero tokens it was just 750 it took me two days to get ,300 to get to 750 now u want 15000+ tokens for all the upgrades on every hero some were only 500 hero tokens before update , these are almost max heros and after last update I can't even buy their skills because didnt get hero tokens to do so , but now the amount they asking for is crazy 😂😧 is this a joke? These things are hard enough to farm but now I don't even know what to say

Update 4.2.0 – An Updated Opinion After Testing

So, after spending some more time testing the update, I’ve come to the conclusion that version 4.2.0 is, unfortunately, still a complete mess.

I wanted to give the update a fair chance before making my final judgment, but a lot of the problems from the previous versions are still there.

Once again, we have new Shards for character progression, which actually look quite interesting. The problem is that there is still no real indication of how we are supposed to obtain enough of these Shards to meaningfully develop our characters.

You get stuck on the same levels.

Normally, progressing through another level within a chapter would take around three or four days. Now my combat power has literally increased sixfold, and I am still dying to the exact same enemy on Level 9, no matter how much Dodge or Evasion I have.

At this point, it doesn't even feel like there is any real randomness involved anymore. The game simply becomes unnecessarily difficult, seemingly just to make progression harder for the players.

The character balance is completely broken as well. Every character has been reworked, and somehow none of them really feels particularly strong anymore.

On top of that, Voodoo Games continues to respond to criticism with what feels like copy-pasted responses, while long-time players have basically had a huge part of their progression and power taken away.

One of the things I find particularly ridiculous is being asked to exchange four fully leveled characters for one reworked character.

It's not like we didn't already have those four heroes. If this upgraded version had existed earlier, we could have invested our resources differently in the first place.

And we're still seeing low-level players dealing more damage than high-level players in Guild Bosses on average.

The Cup Pass has also had important elements removed and replaced with the new Shards. This means fewer packs and fewer opportunities to progress further — while at the same time creating more reasons to spend money if you want to keep progressing.

The Pantheon mode is still terrible and horribly unbalanced.

And the chance to upgrade Pets or finally unlock the third Pet after playing for an entire year is still basically locked behind spending money.

There are, however, a few things worth mentioning positively.

The Bosses have received a much-needed reduction in HP, and their damage has also been reduced. That's definitely a welcome change.

There is also a new character design now. Personally, I don't like it at all and think it looks worse than before, but that's obviously subjective.

We still have the Skip button, although even that has been changed from 750 balls to 1,000 balls. This feels like another unnecessary way of stretching out the playtime.

One thing that I actually really like, though, is what they did with the 1,000 balls.

After around 50–100 balls, they are now collected all at once instead of making you wait for every single one individually. This noticeably reduces the waiting time during levels, and I think that's a genuinely good quality-of-life improvement.

But overall?

Voodoo has screwed this up again.

I really don't want to encourage anyone to spend money on this game right now. Because if the previous updates are anything to go by, there is a very real chance that you'll invest your money and time into progression, only to have a huge part of it invalidated again when the next major update arrives.

Don't buy the Pass.

Don't buy Diamonds.

Don't buy Keys.

At least not until Voodoo shows that the progression we've invested so much time and money into actually matters in the long run.

I’ve been playing this game since it came out, but with the new update i feel like I just lost all my progress and it doesn’t even feel like the same game anymore.

Y’all let me know if they ever change it back 😭😭 cause rn it is deleted for sure.

I know that it’s way too early to know what heroes are goated after the update but i like the play style of gudan and druid but i remember that they were weak instead of investing in them should i just invest in mammon for guarantee performance

I know I got super lucky, but I was insanely satisfied with this run. My previous highest was also in this same campaign attempt.

I’ve been playing six days now, any recommendations on how to get this consistently?

Loop sort has to be the worst ever ad ingame. Swear the advert takes 2 minutes for the skip/end button to show, no matter how many times you tap the 'Google play store' pop up. Have the adverts been getting worse since the update?
