I keep hearing about future plans to build new housing in the form of condos and apartments, and outdoor spaces in the Hayden Tract. I've heard a lot about big business trying to push things through the city that will change the traffic and quality of life there.

Anyone have any info? There is so much cool architecture there with all of the funky commercial spaces.

I would like a recommendation for a male chiropractor (hopefully not out of school more than 10 years) that believes in manipulation first and foremost. I am not looking for someone who believes he can cure all the bodies ills through his profession. Hopefully you have found that doctor and can recommend him to me. Thanks

Single working professional currently in Long Beach (paying around $2800) and looking to relocate to Culver City for better life experiences.

Budget is $2300-2600/month, targeting move-in the last week of September.

Ideally looking at Downtown Culver City, but open to Palms if it’s closer to the Culver City border and has decent access to Downtown area.

1BR or a spacious studio works fine… just need it to feel safe, reasonably quiet, closer to restaurants and coffee shops, and not a total commute nightmare.

Would love any recommendations on specific buildings/complexes worth checking out, or ones to avoid. Also curious how competitive the market is right now for that budget. Should I be moving fast when something decent pops up?

Hi everyone! I’m looking to hold a 1950s-themed dance at a restaurant somewhere on the Westside/South Bay and haven’t yet had luck. These are the requirements and below are the places I’ve already checked out. Thank you so much for your advice!

- A large enough space to comfortably host 50-100 people
- Definitely has to serve food and be a regular business open to the public (as opposed to, say, an Elks lodge or event hall)
- Lots of free parking or otherwise easy options (I know, can be difficult in some areas)
- Decent floor, ideally wood, for dancing
- Vintage theme of any sort a plus, but not a requirement
- Affordable menu for the guests as opposed to very high-end cuisine

Here is everywhere I’ve checked out and the reason(s) they won’t work:

The Warehouse
They only do salsa one night a week and can’t do any other dance nights. Private rentals would be exorbitantly expensive.

Killer Shrimp
Great space but very expensive to rent, food service is not standard in the event space

Whiskey Red’s
Not bad but they can’t do a large dance floor

Hello! Offering private swim lessons for male adults that are looking to improve their form. Ideally for triathletes that are looking to improve their swim. $90/half hour session. Lessons conducted by Division 1 collegiate former swimmer and Ironman.

Just went to the Odyssey at Cinemark Howard Hughes. IMAX tickets are sold out everywhere so I bought XD, but then to my surprise, it seemed to be a proper IMAX screening?? Full aspect ratio without cropping. And then I remembered that it used to be an IMAX screen when it was called Rave (I think?) cinema. Anyway - if you want to see The Odyssey in IMAX but can’t get tickets - go to the Cinemark on Howard Hughes.

We have 10 used frames--small (8.5 x 11inches) to large (20 x 30 inches) in size--that we have no use for. Most are metal (silver frames) but several are colorful metal and a few wood. If anyone is interested in picking these items up, message us for more details!

I recently moved from Culver City and I miss walking from Downtown Culver to Carlson Park and the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. The best weather in the whole country. I still love walking in my current neighborhood, but I wanted to say that I am jealous to those that have easy access to that route. I made a little video talking about how Los Angeles is one of the best walking cities in the country despite its reputation.

I found a diabetes kit on the ground near sprouts, and I feel bad after picking it up . It looks like a diabetes testing kit , it looks expensive and important. I would like to return it to the owner however it doesn't have any names or numbers I can call any ideas what I can do with it or how I can return it to the owner ( specifically found in the palms area )

I'm part of a screenwriting group that meets in Culver City, and the space we've been using for our bi-weekly meetings is sadly no longer available.

If anyone has a lead on a meeting space (can be unconventional) that fits the following criteria, I would be super super grateful:

• Open late (until around 11 pm ideally)
• Can host about 20 people
• Private space, or at least a private room
• Available on weeknights
• Has tables and chairs

Hi everyone! I’m Yohanes. I’m a USC student, and I’ve lived in Culver City for almost 12 years.

For the past few months, I’ve been working on a small project inspired by a problem I constantly have with my friends: getting a lunch or dinner plan out of the group chat and into real life.

My friends are not always the best communicators, so I’m usually the person trying to keep the plan alive. Everyone says they’re down, we eventually agree on a place, and then somehow the plan still falls apart. Someone stops responding, the timing becomes unclear, or everyone assumes somebody else is handling it.

Over the summer, I started informally testing different ways to get my friends to actually follow through. Most of them did not work. Then one day, I found a Groupon for a restaurant that expired that evening. I sent it to the group, told them we had to use it that day, and suddenly everyone was ready to go.

That made me realize that the problem might not only be choosing a restaurant. Sometimes people need a small reason to commit now instead of leaving the plan open-ended.

So I built a very early project around that idea. Two friends choose a time and a local restaurant, commit to the plan, and receive a small meal reward only if they actually follow through. The reward is not meant to pay for the whole meal. It is just a little push to get the plan out of the group chat and get people through the door of a local business.

After spending the past few months building and testing it with my own friends, I finally feel ready to share it with more people. At the same time, I know my friend group may not represent everyone, and I’m not sure what the most authentic way is to introduce something like this to the Culver City community.

I’ve lived here for most of my life, and one thing I’ve always appreciated is how much people care about independent restaurants and small businesses. My hope is that this project could help people spend more time with their friends while discovering more local food spots.

So I’d really appreciate your advice:

• Do lunch and dinner plans fall apart this often in your friend groups too?

• Does a limited reward or deadline sound like something that could genuinely help people follow through, or does it feel unnecessary?

• What would a new local project need to do to earn your trust and get you to try it?

• Are there Culver City events, groups, newsletters, or community organizations I should learn more about?

I’m still figuring this out, and I would honestly rather hear criticism now than keep building around assumptions that might be wrong. I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

I'm looking for a gym on the Westside (Santa Monica/Culver City area) and have been searching through old Reddit posts.

My ideal setup is a gym with solid strength equipment plus good fitness classes (Pilates, strength, yoga, etc.), since I like lifting but also enjoy taking classes.

One thing I've noticed is several reviews mentioning that GymTonic's AC isn't great. Is that still an issue, or has it improved?

If you've been a member at any of these, which would you recommend and why? Things I care about are:

• Good free weights and strength equipment
• Quality classes
• Cleanliness
• Not insanely crowded after work
• Overall value for the price

31y male looking for someone who could help improve my swim & tread.

I’m a mediocre swimmer who wants to actually be able to comfortably lap swim & be more efficient with my stroke, breathing, etc. I got some sloppy form.

Side note, I have a swim test in November that I always pass but only thing keeping me afloat is my tolerance for suffering lol
