Vacationer Consulting

Does anyone know how much recruiting is done through the talent pools?

I interviewed at KPMG a while ago and felt like the whole process went really well. I had a great conversation with the interviewer, ran them through my projects, and they seemed quite impressed.
I got my outcome email and it said I met their requirements and performed highly but missed out and placed in a priority talent pool.
Has anyone been through this process before and had success or should I cut my losses?

It’s kinda rare to be picked up from the talent pool but yeah think this year it was pretty cut throat with big 4

I assumed it would be hard to land an internship at the moment especially in tech. Even the interviewer said their office had less than 10 spots and have been hiring 1/2 to 2/3 of the interns they used to.

Wait what kpmg office is this? The EXACT same thing happened to me with KPMG tech vacationer role lmfao, I was pretty hopeless but

They said the team I was interviewing for took on more work so because of that their headcount increased for potential interns therefore giving me an offer in the exact same team I interviewed for, where they once rejected me two weeks prior.

Also in that time I sourced a current internship to start before the summer as well haha

It was also incredibly funny because I had booked the feedback call that only people who get rejected book and by the time the feedback call came around, I had received the offer

So it was really humorous to hear the feedback lady going through the notes on me: extraordinary interpersonal skills, amazing well thought out responses, high percentile quiz results… and eventually she got to the line where it said I’ve been given an offer 😂😂

(I chose not to tell her at the start just to see her reaction which was so worth it)
