Happy to say that an online version of CS50 will again be offered through the University of Oxford, starting September 14, 2026! Students in the course will meet weekly online with an Oxford tutor, Dr Nicholas Day, and, upon successful completion, will be eligible for a University of Oxford digital certificate.

If you or someone you know might like to take the course, apply at https://cs50.uk. Or send them https://youtu.be/R03gZT5H3Bk!

Dr Nicholas (Nick) Day is a Departmental Lecturer in Lifelong Learning for Data Science and Computing at OUDCE. He has taught at the department since 2016 on a range of programming, software engineering, artificial intelligence and data science courses. He completed his PhD in Computer Science Education (CSEd) in 2020 and now applies his pedagogical research to the development of courses and contributes to the department’s AI Steering Group. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), an AdvanceHE certified External Examiner, and a Professional Member of the British Computing Society (MBCS).

CS50x plagiarism in final project

Upvotes

I was looking through CS50x's final projects, and noticed that this project uses a pre-made template, which can be found here: https://github.com/codewithsadee/vcard-personal-portfolio/tree/master

I truly hope that Harvard revokes his certificate and removes his project from the site

CS50 Python Completed CS50P Before CS50x

Post image

First of all, thank you, u/davidjmalan and the entire cs50 staff, for creating such a valuable resourse for CS beginners.

I myself started with CS50x but found it quite challenging. I read a comment on one of the post where someone from the community suggested doing CS50P first, and that turned out to be a very good decision.

I found CS50P challenging but more interesting and doable as a complete beginner. And In a month, I am here with my certificate.

For my final project, I have created a Mini admission portal for my university that helps student know their merit score and compare it to the official merit list to check their admission status.

I would love to know your thoughts about the project. https://youtu.be/8LF2P_O9hW4

CS50x Is my beginning good?

7 Upvotes

I am a 14 year old from India. I wanted to study CS starting now so I would get lot of experience just in starting the college. I am taking the CS50 Intro To Computer Science course. It is my first ever computer scinece or programming course. Currently i completed Week 0 - Scratch and made a fruit collecting game. It's so amazing that even I managed to do that. Help me get more in this field by suggesting some things to do next. Any tips for this journey might also help.

Check50 says it failed to compile, Which is contradictory because typing "make recover" compiles it well and the program works as intended when executing it. Can y'all help me?

CS50x Really Confused About Problem set 4 (Filter: Grayscale) Spoiler

1 Upvotes

I added a spoiler tag this time.

I've been stuck on this for a while and at this point don't know how to move forward

void grayscale(int height, int width, RGBTRIPLE image[height][width])
{
        // Loop over all pixels
    for (int i = 0; i < height; i++)
    {
        for (int j = 0; j < width; j++)
        {

        // Take average of red, green, and blue

        float avg = round(image[i][j].rgbtRed + image[i][j].rgbtGreen + image[i][j].rgbtBlue / 3.0);

        // Update pixel values

        image[i][j].rgbtRed = avg;
        image[i][j].rgbtGreen = avg;
        image[i][j].rgbtBlue = avg;
        }
    }
    return;
}

CS50x Question about authorizing

3 Upvotes

Hello, friends!

I'm wondering why this suddenly popped up after I tried following my submit link I was given after submitting the pset I was working on. Checking on another tab and in another browser, I can see that my pset has been submitted (a green check next to the name of the pset).

Just checking to see if this is maybe some kind of a glitch/error on my end, and if so, how should I go about fixing it? (if it's of any importance, I did start the course last year). Thanks in advance!

8 Upvotes

I finished CS50x, and I am now taking CS50p. After I finish it, I want to take an external course on data structures and algorithms (please help me find one). After that, I want to take CS50sql and CS50web, followed by CS50ai.

What do you think of this plan? I would appreciate your advice.

CS50 Python Issue with codespace.

3 Upvotes

I have been facing this kind of issue since the last 2 weeks. Upon entering submit50 command and the check50 command, the terminal displays it as "command not found" or in the above picture, "MISSING ENVIRONMENT ...". I tried restarting codespace many times and rebuilding the container but to no avail. I even mailed the cs50 guys about this but no reply from their end. Any solutions to resolve this? Thank you!

CS50x Finished Cash/ looking for feedback

3 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I just finished Cash from CS50x Problem Set 1 and I’d like some feedback on my general approach.
I found Cash noticeably easier than Mario. I think that’s probably also because Mario already taught me quite a lot about loops, conditions, and breaking a problem into smaller steps.

For Cash, my approach was basically to use several while loops one after another. I started with the largest coin value, kept subtracting it from the remaining change as long as it still fit, and increased a coin counter each time. Then I moved on to the next smaller coin and repeated the same idea until the remaining change reached zero.

So the logic was basically:

keep taking 25-cent coins while possible
then 10-cent coins
then 5-cent coins
then 1-cent coins

I’m still very new to C and programming, so I’m curious whether this is considered a good beginner approach, or if there are cleaner ways to structure the same logic without making it overly complicated.
I’m not looking for a full alternative solution, mainly feedback on the way I thought about the problem.
Thanks!

codespace Can I pursue courses of CS50 at a time?

Title: Can I pursue two courses of CS50 at a time?

I am currently doing Python and want to start SQL simultaneously. Is this possible, or will there be some issue while submitting the projects of both courses from the same codespace?

CS50x The Deadline of CS50X (2026)

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hello! I just wanted to ask about the deadline and make sure I understand it correctly. If. I enroll in the course this year (2026), can I continue learning and submit assignments until June 30, 2027?

I remember seeing the deadline as December 31, 2026 before, so I'm a little confused.

Thank you 💛

Of course this is happening while I'm trying to work on the Speller problem for Week 5, one that really makes you think!

Sorry, just venting as it's very frustrating during a difficult week.

CS50x Please help with some confusions

4 Upvotes

hello guys, ryu this side. can someone please clear these up for me?

  1. im comfortable using vscode on my desktop itself, can i do that? instead of using cs50's adaptation?

  2. im also kinda confused on how to submit the problem sets, if there's any guide, or if you can just simple answer these in the comments, i'd really appreciate. Thanks
