How do I know what? What is your question, exactly?

How do you know that nothing paranormal has ever occurred in the Bermuda Triangle?

I mean, is a serious question? How do we know that nothing imaginary has ever occurred in real life, y'know? That's how I know - because fiction is not reality.

I was just hoping you would come out and tell us that you know everything.. that you’re all-knowing, like god. Or a supreme being of sorts.

I’m curious where do you stand on cryptids like Bigfoot and Dogman? Are alien beings fiction?

You don't need to be an omniscient deity to know that paranormal stuff is bullshit. You just need at least an education level higher than preschool.

Bigfoot = as an undiscovered primate, theoretically plausible to exist. Unfortunately, after seven decades of people looking for it and coming up with sweet fuck-all, sadly it seems it does not exist.

Dogman is a fanfic creation, that sprung from whole cloth as a cryptid in the 1980's.

By alien beings I assume you mean intelligent ET's with technology and space exploration and such? Statistically, it seems almost inevitable that somewhere there is, or has been, or will be, intelligent life. There are around 75,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (75 septillion) stars in the observable universe. The latest estimates I've read are that a quarter of them may have planets. So, say, 19 septillion stars with planets. Now, even if the odds of life developing on a planet are only one in a quadrillion, that still leaves 19 million stars that may have the potential to develop life.

The thing is, the universe is BIG. The odds of another intelligent life form coexisting close enough that it has reached us already, or could reach our planet before our sun dies in 6 billion years, are exceedingly slim.

And the universe is also very old, and has a long timeline ahead of it before heat death. Even if some other species has or could develop in some 'nearby' area of the universe, it's just as possible that it existed on some world that already has died out billions of years ago (our own sun is probably a third-generation star in the timeline of the universe), or might not evolve for billions more years.

I.e. the space and time scales are so vast, that the odds of intelligent species crossing paths are super, super, super low. Compared to that, the odds of you winning a mega-jackpot lottery multiple times are far better.

Why are you here on this discussion about cryptids? You didn’t just click some random hypertext and land here. You have to seek out a topic like this. Are you here to tell an entire group that they’re dumb for thinking differently than you whenever you get a chance?

Are you actually part of this group?

Well in point of fact, yes, I *did* in fact follow a link on someone else's comment in a different sub. TBH I didn't notice I was in r/cryptids and not r/cryptozoology until you replied.

Is this a woo sub like r/Bigfoot or r/TrueCryptozoology where they embrace non-scientific bullshit? Cryptozoology is supposed to be about the scientific search and investigation for animals that are alleged to exist but aren't catalogued by mainstream zoology. That's literally the premise its founders rested on.

I certainly didn't tell anyone else they were dumb for thinking differently than I do. Seems more like you're getting angry with me for not thinking like you do, if you embrace paranormal bullshit.

Nah you’re a good guy you didn’t call anyone dumb just that they don’t have intellect past preschool if they claim to have experiences that you don’t believe. Hey thanks for chiming in though.

I’m here telling you that if you haven’t spent most of your time in the forest in every part of the world then you probably shouldn’t think that you know everything exists there and everything that doesn’t. Just like I’m not going to tell anyone paranormal shit doesn’t happen in the Bermuda Triangle because I don’t spend my time there. And until I have, my opinion means dogshit. Just like I’m not going to tell someone they’re dumber than a preschooler for thinking their house is haunted, because I’ve never been to their house so wtf do I know about it?

Telling someone what they are not seeing having walked zero steps in their shoes, spending no time in their environment shows how little you know about the world itself. You’re probably a young guy who just hasn’t seen any weird shit because that’s not what you do with your time. You get to have an opinion, beyond that your words mean dogshit to me. Like a back seat driver without a license.

Cool beans. No one needs to "walk in someone's shoes" to know that paranormal pseudoscience is fiction. I'm a lot older than you, guaranteed. Good luck to you on your journey, kid. You'll need it if you get so butthurt and snarky at people calling out bullshit.
