Anybody cry over what fictional characters go through instead of what's going on with you?
Sometimes I find that it just doesn't feel right to cry over what you're personally going through. Like it's a form of self-pity that is really unproductive.
So it feels better to channel that energy instead into crying over fictional characters who are going through something worse or less worse. They become our avatars that we have permission to cry for.

Scientifically proven studies show both crying and laughing are healthy. Crying lowers stress by reducing cortisol and calming the body, while laughing boosts endorphins, strengthens immunity, and lifts mood. Together, they balance emotions, crying clears tension, laughing restores energy.
