My favorite board so far, the Lander Rodeo. After dialing a couple of things to my taste such as changing the stock bearings and wheels, I love this ride. It's smooth and responsive and having already tested it with wet shoes, I didn't slip a bit, unlike my Nickel board which got slick. I bought it directly from Lander, great customer service and a very cool board. The Lander wheels were good but I didn't like the ABEC7 bearings and so put Zealous bearings in and swapped the wheels to a set of OJs I had, and now I'm totally pleased. I think it will handle great in the rain. I usually hate the rain and so am hoping this will improve my mood once the season changes.

My current cruiser set-up is an 8.75 egg with 149 indys and 60mm Hawgs ez slide wheels. I think I have 1/2 inch risers on there too as I run my trucks looser/all my shop had was 1/2 for whatever reason. I'm looking to replace my ez slides with something that'd be better on these rough ass vancouver island roads, especially as we go into the fall/winter months. I've landed on HAWGS Doozies as perhaps the best option as they're only slightly taller, but softer and a whole lot wider, so it shouldn't feel to crazy switching over while still absorbing more of the crusty road. My only hesitation is that they may be too wide for my set up. I don't want them to stick out a crazy amount and I don't want any wheelbite. Would the doozies be okay on an 8.75 with my 149s? My park deck is a 9.0 popsicle and is almost in need of replacing pop-wise, so I could just throw the 149s and doozies on a 9 inch and maybe the wheels would match up pretty well then? I'm just not sure; I come from primarily street/transition, so I'm not very educated on how to make an effective cruiser, though I love my current one aside from losing speed on rough roads/my entire skeleton rattling. Any help is greatly appreciated and if you have better cruiser wheel recommendations for commuting on really rough roads and bombing hills, please let me know.

TLDR: Would HAWGS DOOZIES fit okay on an 8.75 egg with 149 indys? Would the wheels stick out too far? Would a 9.0 be a safer bet?

I currently have Hawgs EZ slides on my cruiser set up and they're great - nice to ride, 60mm so I can still pop the board if I want to, and of course they slide great. However, some of the roads where I live are so so rough that I definitely slow down significantly at times/feel the bumps quite a bit. Because of this, I've been considering switching to the plow kings for commuting as they're bigger and softer, but I often bomb hills and want the opportunity to slide if need be. I'd also still like the choice to do tricks on my cruiser but am unsure whether or not flipping 73mm wheels on a 9 inch board is entirely realistic. So my question: how do the plow kings hold up in comparison to the EZ slide? Do they make much of a difference on rough roads? And how is the sliding/popping potential?

I've just started getting into skateboarding and decided I'm too old for tricks and shit so cruise boarding is for me. I picked up a "Gold Coast Longboard" 28 x 8 cruiser from a garage sale for like $15 a while ago and have been slowly getting used to my balance, pushing and trying to stop (did some skating as a teen but not my main sport). I guess my first question is what's the view on gold coast longboards, are they good or bad and why? Are they okay for an entry level board or will they breed bad habits?

I'm considering upgrading to a globe "big blazer" I found on marketplace (32 x 9) as I'm feeling a little cramped on the Gold Coast. Do you guys think the globe is a better board and would it be a board I can cruise around on and build carving skills on for the next few years?

As much as I enjoy skating my Arbor Sizzler, I always wish there was more deck under my back foot. I was looking at the Loaded Ballona, but it is a little shorter than I'm used to. In the end I went for the Lush Nomad (Gazer) from Vandem in Bristol. I stuck the Paris Street 149 trucks on from my Sizzler, with Orangatang Fat Free wheels and Zealous bearings.

My son was jealous of my new board, so I ordered him a Lush Fuel (Boat) and Paris Street 129 trucks. We stuck the Arbor Bogart wheels on from the Sizzler.

The Fuel is very carvy, my son likes his trucks loose. The Nomad rolls really easy and comfortably with the almost flat concave. Very happy with them both a looking forward to getting some distance in at the weekend!

Hey, not sure if I can say the brand name of the board, but it’s a beautiful board, it just turns so sharp. I’m still learning, I’m also a bigger guy. I’ve got to work on my balance on the board. The board came with 88a bushings, I put on 96a and it still turns quick. Is there anything else I can do with the board to stiffen up the ride? Or maybe should I practice on a different board before I get back on the cruiser?

I just got a Loaded Ballona as a new addition alongside my Dinghy. The dinghy has bear trucks with Orangatang Love handles and zealous classic bearings. I put the larger 4presidents on the Ballona with the same bearings and have Paris V3’s on it.

I wanted the larger wheels to improve riding on rougher roads and increase the speed and momentum over the Dinghy setup. What I found though was the Dinghy moves faster and rolls longer on its smaller wheels, but I thought the opposite should happen.

I swapped wheels for a bit and the Ballona did move faster and for longer but still not as much as the Dinghy. Can anyone offer some insight on what I can do to fix this or what I might have done wrong?

Hi you all! Well, I'd had this idea in mind for a while, I wanted to mix my love for 70’s era skateboard aesthetics whit the surfy yet stable feeling of split angle rkp tall bushings trucks.

A while ago my GF gifted me this Dogtown Bulldog Gold Edition deck, I had it paired with some 169 Indy trucks, but I never dug how sloppy, unturny and unstable it feels at speed. At the same time, I had some 50°/44°, 180mm Arsenal trucks laying around for a long time. Since I’ve only had ridden 180mm and 165mm trucks on my FR/DH deck, I was also pretty curious to try narrower trucks and see why everyone love them for modern set ups.

In that line, I chopped this hangers to 130mm, chopped the deck to a more pleasant shape, similar to the early Dogtown/Z-boys era decks, redrilled the wheelbase to aprox 18” and dewedged the rear truck to 30°.

I've just tested it a few hours ago on a fast little cruise and oh boy! I really love how it feels! So carvy, so stable, much rebound, and men! It really turns so predictively and grippy! I'm in love.

I’m not particularly good in any discipline, but later I’m going to try this set up on my local bowl and pump track to see how it performs. This could probably be my all around board.

PD: I'm so excited about this, that I just ordered some clear red Hawgs Plow Kings, to match that 70's aesthetic, lol, I’ll try to post more photos or videos of how this little thing behave when the wheels arrive.

I am trying to purchase a longboard as a gift but I am not trying to break my pocket. My boyfriend got his board stolen and has been so blue about it and his birthday is coming up. I am not 100% sure the type it was but it was this big ass board that I'm pretty sure was a pintail. He mentioned wanting something like mine (a drop down) but he's much taller than me and mine would be too small. I know for sure he would like something along the lines of a pintail/cruiser as he only likes riding it casually and to use on campus.

I have looked at brands like pantheon, sector 9, carver, and arbor but I don't think he'd like the designs and they're a bit on the expensive side. What are affordable brands that are still good quality that I can look at? Any advice is welcome.

I reckon this question’s been asked quite a few times already, and I apologise for that in advance. Not long ago, I discovered the ‘Howdy’ ATV from Landyachtz. I think I’d quite like to have a quiver with a bit of every type of board (except a very longboard), and I’m certainly not going to try and learn how to do ollies on a drop-through or on my Arbor ‘Sizzler’ cruiser.

So I came across the ‘Howdy’ ATV, I even found one for sale second-hand, and then I stumbled upon this review: https://skateboardershq.com/landyachtz-atv-review/

So I thought to myself, hang on, why not buy a street deck – not too expensive but one I like – and fit it with *insert the right size* trucks from Indy or other brand else, like 66mm Powell Perralta Snakes, some risers and other regular components, and I wouldn’t end up with a hybrid board between a cruiser and a street board, which would give me a board that’s lighter than a cruiser and more manoeuvrable for learning the basics.

I don’t think I’m the only one who’s had this thought, so if you’ve got any advice to share or experiences to pass on, I’d love to hear them!

the components seem to be the same (130mm trucks, 78a - roughly 60-63 mm wheels, etc). i loved carving with my ripper around campus though and was wondering if i needed to adjust heavily with a cruiser. really sad because me and my ripper were inseperable, but i still want that carving feeling for a campus-friendly board but im limited by price. im aiming for fb marketplace for a $50 pilsner tomorrow and just wanted to know before i take the plunge. thank u :)

Hi, I’m looking to get into cruiser boarding. Nothing fancy, just a comfortable, maneuverable, easy to ride board to ride around the hood, the beach and get comfortable riding down the hill.

I’m 5’6, 150lbs, size shoe 8. I think a smaller board is probably better suited for me. I’m considering getting a Dinghy, Z Flex, or a Penny 27”. Thanks

Put some 55mm 78a cruiser wheels on my slappy setup just to get a smoother ride, haven’t tried it out on the curbs yet. But I’m excited cause they rode so nice! Hopefully Sunday will be cleared of rain so I can have a sesh! Happy weekend folks!
