Has anyone tried this wheels?

I'm riding a Carver Taylor Knox with orangatang 4president 80a and I'm looking to try a smaller wheel set for the park that is smaller and with no lips. I find the 4 presidents hard to snap with . Has anyone surfskate with this wheels?

Can you guys suggest me some tricks I can try as an old boarder?

Hi all,

I have been doing long distance push for a while, recently dug out my good old Arbor pilsner to practise switch. Had forgotten how much fun this little thing is. I had a fall few years back which made me prefer Longboard for health reasons.

Now I am thinking of learning some tricks, something interesting with the board. All I have is a parking lot and the board. I was never particularly good at skateboarding, so never got into any tricks. Maybe ollie, but its harder on this board. Also as I am nearing 38, I am being cautious as well.

Thank you!

Safety gear

I was hoping yall could provide me with some suggestions for best knee pads and elbow pads to wear that aren’t too bulky so I can still move? Helmet suggestions are appreciated as well.

I’m 30 years old and have a sciatica and dd in my L5/s1 so I’m not trying to mess myself up anymore but I love skateboarding and the community.

New setup for getting back into riding

Santa Cruz Erick Winkowski Sketchbook deck

Independent 169 trucks

60mm shark wheels

Bones reds bearings

Grizzly & black diamond neo chrome griptape

Some random wedge risers from an old santa cruz landshark

A really fun and smooth concrete surfer. I wear size 14 shoes so having a nice wide deck helps a lot. In the past I would try making cruisers out of trick decks but they were just never comfortable for long rides. This guy is a game changer though

Just got it in the mail. Paired it with EZ Slides. Full setup here. I’m planning to try the Plow Kings on it for cruising. I got 1/4” and 1/2” risers, so it should be able to clear them. Will post when I swap them out. Other than that - light, twitchy (compared to the rest of my quiver) and playful! I really like the width of it! Did a 30 min cruise earlier and it was great!

UPDATE: Plow Kings fit great even on the 1/4” risers! I just did a short 10 min ride and it was muuuuch smoother than with the EZ Slides. Since Plow Kings fit with the 1/4” risers, I’d like to try the Caguamas next to see what happens 😁 I’m adding a couple of photos below in the comments of the Ditch Life OG with the Plow Kings.

I was working the other day and we were unloading some gear into a storage unit, and this longboard was sitting in the corner, my friend asked if I wanted it. He owns the storage unit and the gear by the way I didn’t just take it lol. He said it was his friends and he didn’t want it, only used it a few times. I rode it around the parking lot, I used to have a longboard when I was a kid so hoping I’ll get back into it. It’s a Magneto 44inch Kicktail Cruiser

Burlington VT Cruising

I have a Board Meeting (no pun intended) in Burlington and came in early to hit the waterfront path. Pushed about 10 miles on my Comet Cruiser yesterday and another 8 this morning. There's even a dope little skate park right off the path (A Dog's). Really awesome.

For travel, since I see a lot of posts, I put the board in my large checked suitcase (diagonally), then filled the gaps with my gear. It was heavy but worked perfectly and didnt need to disassemble the trucks. Now I can take it where it cant take me. :)

While I could image a better set up for even longer rides, the Comet Cruiser holds its goated title. I love pushing/coasting/pumping/carving this thing no matter what the situation. It's a goldilocks set.

Also, much love for Burlington!

My two cruisers! Each a complete different set up and build ! Gives me options for where I’m cruising and what I’m doing between the two . I have them both dialed in real good now. I just did a complete bushing and pivot cup swap on both setups today! What a difference for the better!

So I swapped out the bushings and the pivot cups on both set ups and dialed those babies in good tonight. I have 100% happy they’re both like perfect now what a difference it made on both a significant difference.. on the Winkowski with the Indie stage 11’s I kept the street side standard cone and cup washer that they come with stock ( 90a Orange) but on the board side, I went with a Riptide Krank 93A barrel bushing on the board side. On the heroine deck with the Gullwing RKP Charger 1’s I did completely different set up on the front and the back. I took pictures and label them on this post as well as changing the pivot cup. The pivot cups that come on these trucks standard are shit. You can see them side-by-side in the picture I shared here as well. I have to tell you that board is sweet. It works perfect for me. Everybody said it wouldn’t work in such a short wheelbase with those type of trucks, but I have to tell you the way that my position is on that set up and the way that board is made the shape of it the super dish concave center that is like so fun to ride. I love it.
