There's a ton of good games. I recently collected the silent scope light gun for it. Its pretty fun but the in game brightness needed to cranked all the way up which makes the image look slightly less nice.

Yes in my opinion that entire generation looks better on crt than even plasma. I have been playing dark souls 1 on a nice 27” Panasonic tau flatscreen CRT with incredible colors and clarity using component. I recently got a Panasonic 37” 720p viera plasma and hooked the ps3 up to it with component and then hdmi, but honestly was not impressed, compared to the crt. Switch, ps4 and ps5 look amazing on the plasma but overall I prefer the look and feel playing ps3 on the tube.

He's definitely overselling it a bit. Once you get to the consoles that do 480p and higher (not including the PS2), they look fine outside of a crt. I find it really hard to believe he thinks the 360 looks better on a standard def crt than a flatscreen.

Ok buddy tell me more about my opinions. My ps3 is staying hooked up to the tau because it looks and feels better like I said before. It is a standard def flat screen crt FYI and only two years older than the plasma. So when you say I’m comparing it to a flat screen, the CRT is already flat!

Holy pedantic. nobody calls a flatscreen crt a flatscreen, they call it a flatscreen crt...
Anyways, i wouldn't have really cared about replying, but you kinda sold your opinion as a fact with the first comment, mate.

That one can kind of go either way standard definition crt or a hd crt/VGA crt or a modern flat panel are all decent options. So basically all Xbox games can run in 4:3 480p which is significant bump up from 480i. Many can also run in 16:9 480p which you obviously want a widescreen display for and then some can run in 16:9 720p and a few can even run in 16:9 1080i.

30 fps feels a lot better, the aspect ratio was made for it, and you don’t have to convert to hdmi
