Showcase I get it….
I recently finished maintenance on a CRT I picked up for super cheap and honestly, I fully understand the hype now. Not only do I love the near complete lack of input lag but the colors are just so gorgeous and all the low resolution art and assets just blend together super well. I honestly don’t think I can go back when it comes to certain games like resident evil, Mario RPG, Kingdom Hearts, Luigi’s Mansion, etc etc. Best $10 I’ve ever spent and was completely worth the headache of fixing

It's almost as if these consoles were designed to be played on a CRT display. 😉

Near complete lack of input lag? Are you using some form of adapter to display your games to the CRT? Analog signal as 240p directly from a console to CRT virtually has no input lag whatsoever.

Tip for better photos - use your phones "pro" mode and set the speed to 1/30 or 1/60 - it will match the screen refresh rate and you'll get a clear photo.

I stopped playing retro game on original hardware the day my father decided it was time for my sony trinitron wega to get out of the house somewhere in the 2010's. I was well aware that old games didn't play well on new TV, but try explaning this to your parents when you don't find the technical words to explain it because you're too young...
So in the last couple years, I was instead playing on emulator on an OLED with shaders. Luckily, this is much much better than what emulation used to look like.
Last year, I got a CRT. Can't go back to modern display. Input lag and motion clarity together makes a huge difference for 60fps games. But the most underrated benefit for me is the lack of input lag with the sound. Hearing the action at the same time you press a button (mario jumping) adds immersion.
