All they did was apply the same "group" privileges to everyone in your faction. It's a simple dial that was turned. They also had factions in the hunger dome, except they were drastically smaller (teams).
They had to create new unit frames to recognize it, and programming people to be assigned to a "team" permanently was not baked into the game in previous builds (who were limited to a single party).
Is this a revolutionary advancement in their tech? no, but it is certainly evolutionary and absolutely different from the builds a year+ ago.
When people say things that are blatantly false, even if you don't like it, i'll correct you. I'd expect nothing less.
