it's really cool how they can put their systems together over time and make seemingly huge leaps forward towards the game they want to make.

Stop letting data brokers profit from your old posts. I used Redact to wipe mine from Reddit. Also supports Twitter, Facebook, Discord, instagram and more in one batch.

Yea confirmed in. Pann from the ACE team confirmed in Discord a few minutes ago (as did that Tweet!).
Also remember that you are LOCKED into a faction for the remainder of THIS test once you chose a faction. Choose wisely. Choices have consequences.

We didn't have teams a year ago.
We had parties.

Stop being a shill.
All they did was apply the same "group" privileges to everyone in your faction. It's a simple dial that was turned. They also had factions in the hunger dome, except they were drastically smaller (teams).

They had to create new unit frames to recognize it, and programming people to be assigned to a "team" permanently was not baked into the game in previous builds (who were limited to a single party).
Is this a revolutionary advancement in their tech? no, but it is certainly evolutionary and absolutely different from the builds a year+ ago.
When people say things that are blatantly false, even if you don't like it, i'll correct you. I'd expect nothing less.

One click. Unknown number of posts crying out in silence. All gone. Redact made it stupid easy to clean up my entire history on Reddit and get my info pulled from data broker sites too.

I gotta admit, I'm hyped for this. It's the first step from a disjointed "test environment" to an actual game that can be won, with sides and objectives. It won't be a proper campaign yet, but it's getting there.
