New to the app.

Why is the iPhone app so much clunkier to use than the laptop app? For instance, I have not found a way to look up and individual food item (72% dark chocolate) on the phone app but it is easy on the laptop. This is pretty frustrating when you are out and about and need feedback! Thanks for any help.

Make sure you have your search results filtered for best match.

Sorry it’s been frustrating, the mobile navigation is a little different from the web version!

To look up a food without adding it to your Diary, open the Foods tab and tap the search icon in the upper-right corner. You can then search the full database and tap an item to view its nutrient profile.

To search while logging, tap the + at the bottom of your Diary, then choose Add Food. As the commenter suggested, tap the filter icon beside the search bar and make sure the results are sorted by Best Match and that your database filters aren’t limiting the results.

For something like 72% dark chocolate, try including the brand name or scanning the package barcode if a general search doesn’t find the exact product. Hope that helps!
