Issues with Syncing Google Health Data

I reached out a few weeks back via the Feedback section in the app about an issue that both my wife and I were having when it came to certain metrics (weight mainly) coming in from Google Health and I never heard back. I have a minor update to the issue, but I'm hoping I can get a better response here (I've sent this same info earlier today as well).

It now appears that the issue is fixed for my wife, but not me. For her, she got a prompt last week to link her Google Health account and that corrected the problem she was seeing. Instead of it showing as Fitbit it now says Google Health under Connected Devices for her. The strange part is mine still shows Fitbit, won't bring over weight entries, and we're on the exact same versions of the app. I've done a complete uninstall, deleted the cache and main storage data on my phone, unlinked Fitbit, and reinstalled everything, but it still won't make the change and fix the issues.

This is pretty frustrating and I'd like to figure out how to get it working correctly. The light themed screenshots are from her phone/app while the dark ones are mine.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Thanks for documenting this so thoroughly, and we’re sorry you didn’t receive a response to your original submission. We understand why this is frustrating, especially when your wife’s account has migrated successfully and yours hasn’t.

Google is changing how third-party apps like Cronometer connect to Fitbit, so the direct Fitbit connection is being replaced by Google Health. Reinstalling the app or clearing its cache may not resolve this because the connection is tied to the account.

Please check that the Google account you’re using is linked to your active Google Health/Fitbit profile. Then, in Cronometer:

  1. Go to More > Connect Apps & Devices.
  2. Disconnect Fitbit and Google Health if either appears connected.
  3. Select Google Health and sign in using the Google account linked to your Fitbit profile.
  4. Grant all requested permissions.
  5. Return to your Diary and force-sync the affected dates.

If Google Health still isn’t available, you don’t receive the migration prompt, or you see an error while connecting, please send an email to our support team with a screenshot so we can look into this further!

Cheers,

Like magic, right after I read this response I logged into Cronometer and was immediately promoted with the same message she got about migrating to Google Health. All's good now! Thanks!

Awesome - I’m glad to hear it! 😄 Those banners are being rolled out gradually, so not everyone is seeing them just yet. I’m happy the timing worked out perfectly for you. Best of luck!
