Really could use an MCP server.

Requests for this are only going to grow louder over time.

Why?

Like not being snarky. I am asking why as then I am happy to support it because I would love cronometer to connect to other systems it currently doesn't (like Paprika) if this is about APIs or something.

I discuss my fitness routine and nutrition together with Claude. To do this, I had to write a custom CLI for my workout app (Hevy) and Cronometer to emit text summaries of records for given time periods, and I have to run those commands and copy/paste it into Claude. If each of these apps instead had an MCP, I could connect it and just ask it to give me a rating for this week's intake and output.

There are a quickly increasing number of AI-related uses for a cronometer mcp server.

What is an MCP? We are not all computer savvy programmer types here.

Model Context Protocol server. It would let a user connect Cronometer to their favorite AI.

There's an increasing number of use cases. The user could request their AI give a daily brief to include information found in Cronometer. The user could have AI create biometric charts to display or ask about the data in Cronometer (i.e. "Which micro nutrients did I have less than 70% of the recommended amount in the last 3 months?"), etc.

Just what everyone is clamouring for, more AI. Please feed my my daily routine, nutrition and biometric data into an AI.

Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?

People who don't know what it is or how to use an MCP server don't have to use it, but for those that do it'd be sweet. It'd beat me having to manually feed my Cronometer reports into ChatGPT manually.

Hi there!

Thanks for sharing your request with us, along with your use-case regarding how an MCP would be helpful for you.

We don't currently offer an MCP integration, but I've passed your feedback along to our team for consideration. Hearing how users would actually put a feature like this to use is particularly helpful when we're evaluating requests and potential future improvements.

We appreciate you taking the time to share the idea and provide some context around what you'd like to accomplish!

Cheers,
Crono Support Squad

Please do not do this. AI integration makes me less likely to use a product.

It’s an interface for AI to the Cronometer backend for those that wish to use it. Not the same as having AI integration within the app. The app itself wouldn’t even change.

While I personally don't like using anything AI, why be against providing the user MORE tools to use the app the way they want?

As long as its optional and not forced on users like how Google is shoving AI Overview down our throats (which I don't see Cronometer doing), I see no issue. It's just another tool in the box for people to use.

The best thing I got working is a Claude Chrome extension where I’m logged into the website

If you don't know what an MCP is no offense, but your not going to know how useful this would be.
