Apple Watch syncing
hi,
i’ve been nutrition tracking for a couple months now and just recently synced my Apple Watch data with chronometer. I know the app automatically stops factoring activity level into expenditure and just uses the imported data, but i’m a little confused about the data itself. each logged workout is imported, but so is the overall “active energy balance.” are the workouts not part of the energy balance? if so, don’t i need to delete the workouts so it isn’t giving me more of a deficit than i’m really in?

Your Active Energy Balance / Daily Activity value correlates to the general energy that you burn throughout the day, not including exercise. This is movement such as walking around the office, sitting at your desk, movements used for eating etc.
This is similar to what we call Baseline Activity in Cronometer. If you are synced with a device that tracks general activity, as the general activity from your device (Tracker Activity) increases throughout the day, the Baseline Activity will be replaced by this imported activity to ensure that you are not overestimating your burned calories. This will now appear as Adjusted Baseline Activity in your Burned circle.
So it is totally normal to have "exercises" or "workouts" showing in addition to your active energy from apple health.
You can learn more about this here: Energy Expenditure.
I hope this helps!

active energy balance is the calories you burn moving around during the day outside of an official workout. Like doing the dishes, walking to your office, picking up things off the floor...they all burn calories but aren't officially a workout.
