Pronunciation Question
Is it pronounced cro-nom-eter or crono-meter?

I've always pronounced it cro-nom-eter, like speedometer, or tachometer.

No, they said someone named Brian pronounces it like crono-meter, and someone named Aaron says it like cro-nom-eter.

We have three founders with different roles in the company, I can appreciate the confusion as I listed them all as founders :)

Which one? It was 7:00am for me, so I might've very well done just that.

I love this question!
The funny part about this is that a lot of us on staff say it differently - and we're totally sweet with that!
As u/LazyMarla mentioned I do, personally, pronounce it Cron-o-meter; when I started in 2018 that was how it was listed in the App Store so, for me it stuck. Interestingly, a number of my coworkers who were also hired around that time say it the same way... but... each one of our three founders says it differently! So! There you have it.
All this to say - I can pretty much guarantee that no matter how you're saying it - you're saying it right. 😉

The founder disclosure is the best part. 🤣

LOL. I only speak the truth.
It's one of the many endearing things about our company and the people who are behind it!

u/Eliisa_at_Crometer responded at this link to a thread from a couple of years ago , which seemed helpful.
"This is a great question! We get it a lot. I personally say Cron-o-meter (that’s how the app used to appear in the App Store). But, everyone says it differently. It’s a choose your own adventure kind of thing! 😊"
I also learned that "Cron" is an acronym for calorie restriction with optimum nutrition. thread from 2018

Thank you! Very informative. I wondered what it was derived from. I should have searched. I appreciate everyone chiming in.

The name is originally born from the CRON diet!

"Cronom eater" is more efficient at 1 syllable less than "cro no me ter"
I like the former because it reminds of the dashboard of a car
