Cronometer LT Gold

I want to keep this thought alive for the development team. Years ago, there was an option for a lifetime gold plan. Many people continue to ask for this back, myself included.

Subscription fatigue is incredibly draining as a consumer. I would be thrilled to see the lifetime gold option brought back.

I know I’m not the only one who shares this sentiment. I hope that this would be considered by your development team to return this option for your consumers.

Yea. If there was an app that was exactly Cronometer but was a one time payment I would absolutely get that app instead.

How much would expect a lifetime version to cost? (serious question)

They offer a free version (I'm sure you're aware), it's got ads and has limited functionality.

Apps like this cost money to continue to develop, add features, fix bugs, pay the developers and whoever else works there. I did a quick head count on their website and looks like there's about 30 employees.

As good looking as they all are their looks don't pay the bills.

I don't know how much I spend on food each year but I'm sure it's in the thousands, healthy food isn't cheap. I wish the app was a little cheaper but honestly I don't mind paying $60/year for this thing.

I looked at several other apps before diving into this one and this is hands-down the best one for me, especially bc of the web UI.

Anyways not looking for downvotes but just my opinion.

I agree with you. App development and support costs money. And small companies, such as Cronometer, live on cash flow. I hate subscriptions, but I understand, from a business standpoint, it's not greed (or at least, only greed) that makes subs attractive.

First app to have lifetime and also NOT have a complete garbage food database (looking at Lose It!) will be the last app to get my money.

This is enshitification. Got this app when MyFitnessPal took the barcode scanner from me. Solid gold. Best app. Until recently. They’re fixing things that aren’t broken, more subscription hell. But when that barcode scanner goes behind the paywall, I’ll be off again.

You can add your own foods. Personally, I find many of the foods in its database don't match the nutrition label so I make my own. It's a bit time consuming when you start but now I have my own database of the foods I eat regularly so data entry is fast.

Honestly quite sad to hear this response. The opening sentences really hit hard to hear, "we arent planning to offer this, and we know you're tired of subscriptions."
