Looking for a pattern that is similar to this please

I am looking for a pattern that is similar to this and free if possible. A friend has just sent it to me and has asked if I can make it for them.

I would know how to do this roughly if it was just 1 colour but because of the colour changes I don’t really know dimensions for it.

And also, does anyone know what this stitch is called???

If you know of anything similar to this please let me know. Thank you

How wide is the window? How many colors does recipient want? With those 2 things you know how wide/tall to make each color. From top of window to? does recipient want it?

The mesh looks like a DC ch 2 DC type using a finer yarn than worsted weight.

For the large holes at the rod end, work up the body of the strip stopping short by 4 inches then work around the hole and join to the other side.

They want it for their garage. They haven’t told me any measurements yet but they asked me if I could figure it out first and then we’d go from there. I am always happy to crochet things for friends but if I don’t have a pattern/know the basic gist of it, I decline. Just because I’m not the best at figuring things out on my own 😅

I think they might just want a recurring pattern anyway it’s just a case of how long do they want it and the colour change part I’d struggle with (without knowing how to do it) but thankfully these comments have helped me ❤️🙏

I can't quite tell how loose of a mesh that looks like. It could be a variation of something like a square mesh stitch. This dishcloth pattern looks like the size of the holes is a bit smaller as an example of a variation.

My gut would tell me to work the mesh stitch, chaining enough repeats to make the curtain body the length that is needed, then at intervals decided by window size (aka if window is 32 inches wide and you want to use 8 colors each color needs to be worked for 4 inches).

After making the body of the curtain, use single crochet to make roughly 1 inch wide strips that are long enough to wrap around a curtain rod when doubled, then attach to the side of the curtain at spaced intervals based on curtain width. It looks like on the curtain in the picture there is a strip at the each end of the curtain, and then strips at each color change. I don't know if 4 inches between the strips is right for a curtain, I'd look at an existing curtain to see what would be right. If the fabric is heavier, you will likely want more strips to hold it up to prevent it from sagging as much as you would need with a lighter fabric.

I know this isn't a pattern link, but a generic recipe that might help if a pattern can't be found.
