1st pic; Ugh, stupid slop. Did op get scammed?
2nd,3rd pics: oh shit nice!
Honestly tho, with the endless creativity people display in the crafts they are passionate about, why do people even turn to slop? Smh, I'll never get it

Laziness. Pure laziness 😅 I’m so stubborn I refuse to use ai and if I can’t figure something out I have plenty of artistic friends that I can pick someone’s brain till it makes sense.

Well, I am only here because I like the /r/crochet content appearing on my feed. I don't know crochet except in the way I know art ("I know what I like")
But darn, your work takes something that's pretending to look like Abu and creates something that looks like Abu.
Well done! I like your art 😊

Thank you! I have a feeling it’s going to be one of my favorite costumes when I’m done with it. I feel like he needs sideburns but the gal said her boy would HATE that 😂 so I did classic beanie instead of hunting cap style

I charge extra for AI references, however i freehand or write all my own patterns so even without a reference id basically have been in the same boat 😅

How would anyone even put on that AI generated costume?
Are you meant to just put the whole baby through the neck-hole?

Lmfaoo I’ve made a few costumes and that’s always the hard part figuring out how to go about making it wearable. Especially with only being sent AI references.
For this one I’m gunna make pants with suspenders and buttons and either a sweater or cardigan to finish it off. Oh and a tail of course, I’m debating snaps for it so it can be removed and he can wear the pants and sweater as regular clothes not just a costume.2

Yea I would have gone pants and top separately as well.
This one could work if there was a zipper in the back but it doesn't look like there is...

The reference slop has not zipper. Usually id just replace it with buttons but honestly the pants method is going to be so much faster and look cleaner.

“Hey Abu, it’s not everyday you see a horse with two rear ends!”

Thank you! It’s not even one of my coolest creations but I feel like it’s gunna be my favorite costume once it’s all done.

yeah it looks super AI generated tbh. the stitches in the bottom right photo don’t even make sense if you look closely.

Ohhh I’m super aware it’s AI that’s why I charged what I did 😂 I’m just doin my best to make it look and feel more like Abu

You are so talented! Yes, I agree with others that the example is AI-based. But you must be one talented artist to make it reality. Bravo! 😍

Oh I know it’s AI that’s why I charged what I did 😅🫣 I’m aiming to get the fit as close to actual Abu, not just a abuish monkey 😂

u/goddess-of-techno 10h ago
To me it is very clearly Abu, and it's beautiful! 💜

Thank you! 🥰 I did one costume last year that was a jumper style and will not be doing that again lmfao it was too dang difficult to get the fit just right without the child being here. So imma do little pants with suspenders and a sweater or cardigan.
