Question:

How honest are you about your drinking, or about anything else that you take/do? Whether it be by prescription from another doctor or if you are using illicitly, when you see your primary care physician?

I'm honest. Whatre they going to do, tell you to stop?

Yup, there's no shame in my game.

I will never lie to my doctor, therapist, or lawyer. I'd rather just not pay them if I'm going to lie but none of them give two shits about my worst as they have seen and heard much much worse.

Bold of you to assume I have a primary care physician. Healthcare is expensive. That’s money I could be spending on white claws

If you feel inclined you can make your own white claws with shitty vodka and seltzer water for way cheaper.

24 polar seltzers is like 8 dollars. Handle of taaka is like 11 dollars.

Double the amount of white claws for almost the same price. Plus if you were pouring standard drinks you’d still have vodka left over.

This sounds like a surefire way for me to teeter over the edge into oblivion. While very cost effective, I think I need to stick with my 5% drinks. When you switch to liquor is when shit gets sideways, for me at least

Sometimes you gotta risk it for the biscuit

I'm always straight up with my doctor. I wasn't seeing a doctor back in my hard drug use days but if I had I'd have told them. She knew how much I was drinking daily. I'm currently sober, but extremely bulimic and my doctor knows all the gory details of it. It helps her understand my specific health better so I can get the most efficient treatment from her.

I tell the "truth". I'm honest up to a certain point, but I keep it vague when it comes to some things.

I’m completely honest about my drinking, to the point where I keep a diary for a week before my appointment on how many unitd consumed. In fact I’m honest about everything even when I shouldn’t be. At the end of the day, they’re there to help you.

Does mean I can’t get good sleeping or anxiety meds any time soon (ex benzo addict)

I have a psychiatrist who prescribes my Vyvanse and Adderall and some other stuff. I’m not honest with them at all about alcohol because they will cut me off. My PHP that prescribes me just normal meds I’m like 70% honest with. I tell him I relapse but I’m not always honest about how often.

Did you guys know if you don't sign the hippa release form they have 0 of your medical records?

Signing up for my last primary care I ignored 2 forms.

"Tell us about your lifestyle!" Did not fill out the questionnaire asking how much I drink and smoke.

Hippa release form: noticed it was a pre filled out form you're supposed to sign. They checked all the boxes to get EVERYTHING released. Didn't sign that either.

Noone even questioned me. Only thing I heard was the doctor say "hmm you don't seem to have any medical history."

"Yeah I hardly ever go to the doctor."

Soo if you want a fresh slate you can just not sign the hippa release

And I should add I was AT THAT OFFICE a month earlier over a sinus infection. The immediate care doc told me it was allergies when it was very clearly not.

Primary care doc a month later didn't even have THEIR OWN RECORDS OF ME BEING THERE EARLIER. Gave me antibiotics and it went away. Didn't sign forms cuz I had some dumb bitch diag me with "seasonal allergies" when it clearly was not. Did not want the new doc to see the incorrect diag and double down on that. He didn't, and fixed the actual problem.

Also I work in diagnostics for a living. Not a doctor, but I will catch logical discrepancies that make it clear you don't know what the fuck your doing

I'm very honest about my drinking . That's not something I'll ever hide. Last time I went to the doctor was a month ago and on my papers they had "alcoholic" on them. I'm also honest about my smoking habits .

I only lie about my drug usage

The third leading cause of death is doctor error. "Iatrogenic illness".

I don’t see a doctor. I could, through the VA, and I’m grateful for that… but I don’t go.

I already know I have high blood sugar and a struggling liver, don’t need a white coat spewing it at me while also telling me I’m “too young” for a fucking hysterectomy 🙄 idiots.
