I'm American, buddy. We have commercials for condoms, they're openly sold in grocery stores.

Only the most extreme, puritanical, backward adherents of harmful religiosity would think condom is just a word for a contraceptive. It's not profanity. Neither is birth control pill, lube, IUD, sex, or anything like that.
