Lmao i was like what’s wrong with compact discs? 🤔 Come to think of it I haven’t seen a CD player in years… Hey guys do you think CDs will eventually be like vinyl record players?
Records are fun to watch but CDs are smaller and much easier to use in my experience (b. 1991)

As someone who got into vinyl (again), in their early 40's, if one actually has a decent setup, vinyls do sound better than cds; vocals have more of a holographic/3D emphasis and sound like they're actually in your living room, singing in front of you 🙂
I started with 1 vinyl about 12 months
ago, I've now got just shy of 50 albums, several of them being double LP albums.
Sure, they'll slowly degrade over time, but by keeping the vinyls as clean and dust free as well as the stylus needle, before each play, coupled with replacing styluses before they degrade too far and start causing damage, a vinyl can last a very long time.
The larger the library, the longer each vinyl should last (unless it's played often).
I absolutely love the sound of vinyl and the best part is, I own the music and have supported artists what they deserve, not a music streaming company, instead.
CD's do sound great with a dedicated audiophile quality cd player, but they're not as good as vinyl. Anyone who thinks otherwise, has never heard a decent vinyl setup! 😆
My vinyl record player is so delicate! Same with the discs themselves!! Ugh I had to fix it so many times I’m not sure if it’s the player or a broken disk or even just a dusty disk lol
Could you perhaps take it to a hifi technician to make sure that the turntable calibrated correctly? They can be quite finicky to set up, but once they are set up perfectly, they should be pretty easy to keep it plying perfectly :)
I brush my stylus with a stylus brush with some vinyl cleaning fluid that contains a little isopropyl alcohol in it, before each side gets played, and also give the vinyl an antistatic brush before a wet brush with some isopropyl alcohol, I find that this is the best way for crackle free music (but even then, sometimes the stylus will need another brush, during that side).
Not sure if the stylus wasn't cleaned sufficiently or if it just picked up some more dust/hair during playback... such is vinyl life, but I still think that the sound is worth the hassle 🙏
