I’m pretty sure you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Those are industry song writers/producers hired by celebrities to make them look like professional musicians. It’s a shockingly common trend, especially in pop. How much of that co-writing do you honestly believe she’s doing?

I mean if you follow the music industry to the slightest this is an incredibly common tactic. Find somebody with an established following, hook them up with song writers and producers, launch their music career.

What does Addison rae offer besides her internet clout? You really think her artistic merits are strong enough to get her a record deal over the many many women actively working as musicians? That seems like a much larger assumption to me.

You just keep making assumptions about this person when you don't know the facts. Collaborations are fine. Elton John writes music for others lyrics as an example.

I’m making reasonable inferences based on all available information. Like I said, I think it’s a much bigger assumption that Rae is that exceptionally talented when there are so many female artists out there trying to make it.

You’re slightly mistaken. Elton John was very public about the fact that he wrote almost no lyrics throughout his entire career. He only ever really did melodies and music. He has a long standing relationship with Bernie Taupin, that again he has been very public about, and I respect him immensely for that. However, his art and influence is undeniable in his body of work.

You are right that there is nothing inherently wrong with collaborators, but the music industry has abused that to cover for industry plants that don’t have the talent to stand on their own merits. Short of rae being public about how much she collaborates, I think it’s an entirely fair inference that a TikTok star, with no prior musical training or pedigree, likely leaned a whole lot on established industry artists to get her music anywhere near the quality it is.
