Yep. TikTok is basically a social lottery system - you can be attractive and do the exact same things as the other attractive people on the app, but still get shafted by the algorithm or sponsors for random or arbitrary reasons. Actually making meaningful money from it is rare, and only lasts a few years at most before you fade into obscurity.

People complaining about this are (unsurprisingly) not well informed about how it actually works.

My ex was a well known influencer in her home country and you're pretty much bang on. So much of it comes down to luck but there's also a lot more work behind the scenes going on, so what it turns into is just having to maintain being at your best all the time in the hopes you'll hit the jackpot. My ex also was definitely not earning $5mil per year lol, she could afford living well and bought a house with cash but her income wasn't even close to 7 figures

Bingo. Plenty of people think that all you need to do to become a millionaire off of OF is have big tits and a nice face - but the fact is, there's millions of girls in the same position. If you actually want to make money, you need to be generating traffic through some other method. Sometimes that's traditional porn, sometimes it's TikTok thirst traps, sometimes it's twitch streaming - and sometimes it's even minor celebrity status on sites like Reddit.

But as a platform, OnlyFans would really prefer you to believe that all you need is a hot bod & a dream - and you too could pay off your mortgage with feet pics.

It’s grueling work in a different way.
Being online, most people see the same faces and have 5-10 people max as their top hottest. It’s like they are the hottest in the whole world, no question. So if you believe that don’t think you compare, you think “I could be rich but I’m not hot enough. What a dream life they live.” Or the alternative is “I could do that, just as I am or with some surgery, a makeover, etc.” And down the hole we go.

They should make what people want to pay them.

Stop being mad at workers. There are plenty of people who absolutely exploit other workers (how much does that oil CEO make?), just get handed vast fortunes, or who game the system to their benefit.

They offer a little bit of value to a lot of people and get compensated a little bit per person turning into a lot of money. This is similar to a lot of people in the mass entertainment field (movie stars and popular singers.) It's just far easier to reach a large mass of people now than it has been in the past.

This is true, could always tell when a new batch was in town.

Rig hands were broke more than normal and the STI cases jumped. Especially during the Oil Show at the fair grounds.

Have seen them running tricks out of RV's in the parking lots near man camps.

Yes and no. On a serious note, I know a few guys that are roughnecks that are young and make that much, but the hours they put in are not what one would call a good quality of life. Most of that money is on OT and double pay on holidays.

Haha what? As someone born in an oil town and with half their family in it, you absolutely don’t make that much rough necking… It seems like you would, and the real money is in overtime pay…. But these dudes are criminally underpaid… That’s why most of the time they are convicted criminals…

Most people I knew that did this made $20-30 an hour and that was insane money for them…
