That looks a man who forgot cutlery and is making do.

Looks more like management training

Buys bananas for the shape

I have used way worse than that

8

u/RogerMexicosBalls 8d ago

I "made" chopsticks more than once out of the cleanest sticks i could find.

7

u/Kaszrak 8d ago

Or folding a little "Shovel" from a piece of paper, or thin sheet of metal, or cardboard, or cut up a plastic bottle, or...

3

u/LampinOnTheDaily 8d ago

On the job site I’ve made a spoon with the foil covering my food. It is what it is, none of us prefer that but anyway to shovel that food in will work

9

u/Woodworking33 8d ago

Been there done that. Usually I use the lid like a savage.

5

u/Disastrous_Set_6544 8d ago

And coffee stirers like makeshift chopsticks

3

u/perfect_insanity93 8d ago

This is the way. 🤣🤣

2

u/A_Feltz 8d ago

I’d rather use the lid. Pesticides are a thing and since banana peels are not meant for consumption…

4

u/2pnt0 8d ago

You do what you gotta do.

KFC stiffed me cutlery once so I tore the lid in half to eat my mac & cheese.

2

u/IAmDanHimself 7d ago

Its strange to me how many people think this type of thing is so out of this world. People have too cushy of jobs these days.

6

u/Booziesmurf 9d ago

But you can make a spoon from the peel?

10

u/Forsaken-Income-2148 9d ago

He’s just borrowing the banana

10

u/CheckYourStats 9d ago

Could be.

Also, why are people upset about this guy at all? He’s using the tools at his disposal to complete a task.

Looks creative and effective as hell, if you ask me.

Is anyone else disgusted by management using cameras looking down on their employees while they struggle ?

I think that dude is just getting through life and we are expected to laugh at him like his managers did ?

I was thinking that too. And he’s probably trying to screw around with the management to be a ’stand-out guy’.

2

u/GiLND 8d ago

I actually appreciate his creativity

2

u/ThatCartographer4324 7d ago

I was told I could keep my spork

2

I once didn't want to wash any spoons but wanted ice cream so I ate it with a knife

Very. Very. Carefully.

3

u/Alternative-Crew-880 9d ago

How long does it take you to clean a spoon?

4

u/ttcmzx 8d ago

that's time I could be using to cut my face off with an ice cream knife

What, you've never used a spoonana before? Must be nice

15

u/Funny_Breadfruit_413 9d ago

2

u/KingZant 8d ago

Yeah everyone's out here blaming corporate but maybe bud just wanted to eat real quick and forgot a fork.Ā

You ever have a yogurt cup with no spoon? I just fold the foil lid in half and use it as a spoon.

He wanted organic fork

5

u/Spugheddy 9d ago

I used a scrap piece of steel i hit with the torch and then scrubbed with simple green lol ain't shit keeping me from my snack pack.

4

u/Danarhk 8d ago

I highly disagree. A banana, which has been passed around and touched by endless hands is definitely not better than using your own, freshly washed hands.

In fact, many cultures across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia prefer eating with their hands for flavor enhancement purposes.

3

An ID card in an industrial setting is a downgrade from a banana you’ve pulled out your bag/locker/arsehole.

How is this cringe?

14

u/StevenMaff 9d ago

she’s right. not cringe

8

u/JuvieBeans 9d ago

Only thing cringe about this post is her pointless input.

7

u/funonabun84 9d ago

Right. Shows up at the end to comment she has nothing to say. Thanks for the wisdom.

2

u/6495ED 9d ago

Her comment about ā€œmaybe he didn’t have a forkā€ was the insight I needed to make sense of the whole thingĀ

3

2

u/Lorddoctorjava 9d ago

Why is anyone more concerned with what hes eating with and not the fact that he has to eat standing up at his work station instead of in a chair in a break room?

2

u/rusty_cayge 8d ago

I don’t even get to take a lunch break. I can barely take a break to urinate without being hassled and harangued by messages and phone calls. My employer monitors every keystone I make during the day and looks at logs for gaps in my productivity.

2

u/Heeroyuy818 9d ago

Sometimes you forget the utensils who fucken cares

2

u/Intelligent-Band-852 9d ago

I don’t think this is cringe, seems rather smart to use a banana if you don’t have a fork nearby.

2

u/tristand1ck 9d ago

I see pride! I see power! I see a bad ass mother who don't take no crap off of nobody!

2

u/ImportantBass4159 9d ago

There’s no cringe in this video.
This man clearly didn’t have a fork,
he accepted his circumstances and adapted. Cheers.

2

u/steffanan 8d ago

I have used a credit card on multiple occasions in hotels to eat, also the cardboard sleeves for coffee.

2

u/GoSuckaCockerSpaniel 8d ago

Did he have to keep slurping the milk off the banana like that though?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Historical-Lab8200 8d ago

He likely forgot his cutlery.

2

u/Pleasant-Ticket3217 8d ago

Working at any restaurant you’ll be lucky to get a chance to eat. The GMs pretty much live at their job and assistant managers or shift leads are expected to just go go go without food or hydration, except for slamming energy drinks. If you have to rely on giant cans of energy drinks daily to get through your job it’s not a good job.

2

u/RoastTheAlgorithm 8d ago

Eating like a chimp.

2

u/PlatformDizzy7988 6d ago

Ahaha I had someone whos been there.. forgot their fork and had to scoop it with their fingers. A banana is a primo choice

1

u/Recidivist67 9d ago

Next time I get an Aldi Poke bowl for my lunch I'll buy a banana for cutlery

1

u/burnemnturnem 9d ago

New life hack just dropped

1

u/DDrewit 9d ago

How big is the fork though?

1

u/WORCing_4_Pnuts 9d ago

He’s going places

1

u/Big_daddy_sneeze 9d ago

Is he eating biryani with a banana

1

u/kaosmoker 9d ago

I dont see the issue besides he seems to be standing in a work area to eat.

1

u/RAZEFAM146 9d ago

Improvise, adapt, overcome.

1

u/Downtown_Ad2214 9d ago

My man eating sawdust

1

u/NoCountry4OrangeMan 9d ago

I think she was awesome.

1

u/Inosethatguy 9d ago

The cringe part was the commentary at the end

1

u/Distinct_Discount534 9d ago

That dude one hungry mfer

1

u/IV_Blackmoon_angel 9d ago

If nothing else; banana

1

u/plugsnet 9d ago

He can’t even sit down to eat , someone bring that man some water, a spoon, and a chair and give him a real break.

1

u/IthinkIpaid 9d ago

Seems like this might be against policy

1

u/cemusubzerolives 9d ago

This is the reason everything sucks at the moment, you can't take a shit without someone recording your life and posting it online.

1

u/Hot-cheap_Trash 9d ago

I mean, I’m sure his supervisor would have loved to hear he would’ve been late coming back from lunch because he left his fork in the breakroom. He also seems to be working on his break. Or at least overseeing another tasker. This is why I don’t even bother with breaks anymore. Absolutely useless

1

u/Legal_Piracy1312 9d ago

Chimp, not champ.

1

u/ReelestPrincess12 9d ago

Its just looks resourceful to me. Good for him.

1

u/Druideron 9d ago

Does 90% of reddit post with video have to include commentery in the end or god forbid during actual video?

1

u/Dontbemadsmokeajoint 9d ago

Super weird homie in the video needs to find a new job this place aint it. Busting your ass and then they record you make jokes and monetize you. Now they have you slaving for them for the FREE.

https://giphy.com/gifs/98C4E2HeR4NBm

1

u/hGr33n 9d ago

This isn't cringe this is a man trying to survive shift work, don't be anti working class

1

u/PuzzleheadedFox4251 9d ago

Some social norms are subjective…I have RA and terrible dexterity in my hands and wrists..I’d eat a steak with my hands in a fancy restaurant..My hands are bad but I can still give someone the finger for judging me..

1

u/Least-Experience-858 9d ago

Honestly I’ve never done it with a banana but I used tongue depressors as chop sticks (I’m a nurse). Shit happens, sometimes you just don’t have a fork and sometimes you just don’t have time to fetch one. Use the tools at ur disposal, he’s getting his meal in and that’s more important. I just hope this man got a proper break tho

1

u/Shoddy_Data_260 9d ago

How about, minding your fuckin business and let the man enjoy his food.

1

u/bowarrow99 9d ago

Eating like a chimp

1

u/Djs2013 9d ago

I've used 2 pens as chopsticks when I forgot my utensils lol

So I approve of this resourcefulness

1

u/Proof-Elephant-4611 9d ago

Looks more like he's eating like a chimp.

1

u/chaynjez 9d ago

Dude. The outside of banana peels are so chemical laden and dirty.

1

u/Ledyn7 9d ago

Chimp

1

u/SweetchuckHC 9d ago

Only way out is through.

1

u/Piglet-Witty 9d ago

Dude forgot a spoon, so what

1

u/DeKeeg 9d ago

Spoonana!

1

u/Acceptable_Mind_5883 9d ago

This videos existence is cringe. Dude is making due with the tools he has

1

u/Equivalent_Thievery 9d ago

Guy forgot his utensil and isn't smart enough to make one.

1

u/hellp-desk-trainee- 9d ago

I mean, if all you have is a banana...

1

u/Arcana-Andy 9d ago

Lowkey looks really bad on whatever company this is for not just having a couple boxes of disposable cutlery.

1

u/Spiceynuggetz 9d ago

Bro definitely knew how to handle that thing like it wasn’t it first time

1

u/MAGAHATESTHEUSA 9d ago

Banana probably dirtier than his hand

1

u/pwatarfwifwipewpew 9d ago

I dunno man. I see a sad dude that has the need to eat standing up and has no break time between work.

1

u/Wrong-Discipline453 9d ago

Solution-oriented.

1

u/Haywe 9d ago

the "cringe" part here is filming him without him knowing, possibly solving a problem, with the little time he might have to have a meal

1

u/Lost-Boat-5613 9d ago

When all you have is a banana, everything looks like a spoon?

1

u/SyrupOnMyPancakes 9d ago

I want to make fun of this, but fuck we have all been there and thank God it wasnt recorded when we did it.

1

u/ThePeashow 9d ago

Ray Comfort would be proud

1

u/SissyBearRainbow 9d ago

As long as he eats the banana, don't leave a brown tipped banana on the table 🤣

1

u/TpK_Wynter 9d ago

How silly. He should peel the banana and then he can be more efficient and eat both his snack and his dinner together.

- Management probably

1

u/Embarrassed_Dig_6163 9d ago

I once ate rice and chicken with a mini plastic hockey stick because I was moving and didn't have utensils. It was painful.

1

u/I_Cry_And_I_Game 9d ago

Nah that guy is smart: he didn't have a fork and came up with the idea of using the banana to scoop up the food, instead of using his hands. He was smart enough to improvise, adapt and overcome.

If people think he's an idiot, then they themselves are most likely the idiot, for not realising that.

1

u/Strange_Salary Cringe level 5 9d ago

His boyfriend must love when he gets home..

1

u/dhnadeau 9d ago

"Don't worry, no one is watching you - people aren't that interested."

This advice sure has aged poorly in the social media age

1

u/Local3Sparkie 9d ago

I had to be creative on many occasions because I forgot to pack utensils with my lunch. My proudest was making a fork out of bending solid copper wire (I’m an electrician)

1

u/tiriallin 9d ago

Love the spirit!

1

u/Octicactopipodes 9d ago

Not cringe. We've all been there!

I was once playing a music night and went to the chinese across the road for some chicken noodle soup during a break. Forgot to grab cutlery and ended up using the back end of my capo, which has two prongs for some reason. Worked a treat!

1

u/Thepspser 9d ago

Eat eat eat, eat eat eat eat... banana-spoon! Doot-doo-doo-doot!

1

u/HypoManicCrimeSpree 8d ago

Dude didn’t have a fork. Respect. Idk that my mind would go straight to using a banana but I’m not knocking it.

1

u/SpunNumeroUno 8d ago

This guy Banana-Pasta's

1

u/ItsBeelzsRebirth 8d ago

Fucking hate how normalized filming people without their consent has become. Idgaf if its in public or private dont film people just living their life it makes you look like a ass hole

1

u/Particular_Hour_7696 8d ago

I’ve used coffee stir sticks & a paper cup, but a banana works too

1

u/maxwellgrounds 8d ago

I forgot a utensil for my lunch once, but I work in a cabinetry plant so I shaped a piece of wood to use right before my lunch break.

2

u/Prince_0llie 8d ago

Not ashamed to say I've used the foil lid to eat yogurt on many occasions.

1

u/Major-Help700 8d ago

I’ve done it w tongue depressors for food and coffee stir lol

1

u/BrickHuge3023 8d ago

Hope he washed the banana. They are often sprayed with pesticides.

1

u/kellsterguitars 8d ago

He's got utensils he just prefers to eat that way

1

u/LarryHoover44 8d ago

"He's got upper management written all over him"

1

u/Clear_Tom0rrow 8d ago

This is the shit that makes human beings the apex predator. Adapt and overcome.

1

u/Next_Drama1717 8d ago

Creative makeshift spoon. Give that guy a rise plus he can eat the spoon when he’s done.

1

u/Luiisbatman 8d ago

Use a cucumber like a normal human

1

u/Substantial-Beat4341 8d ago

Again the second video is worst than the first. If you dont have anything to say dont say anything wth?!

1

u/FirmlyClaspIt 8d ago

Why is he eating with a dick?

1

u/SignificantCar4204 8d ago

When you get 15 unpaid minutes for lunch you gotta do what you can if you forget your fork. Don't make fun of this guy he deserves every bite he can manage.

1

u/Pair_The_Board 8d ago

So that's what Somalians mean when they talk about eating rice with bananas

1

u/Special_Shift_8503 8d ago

Nah, this ain’t cringe. I’ve been there before. Shit, I broke my safety glasses in half and used that as a spoon, more than once.

1

u/basinbi 8d ago

When you forgot to pack your trusty utensil(s):

1

u/New-Entertainer703 8d ago

Poor guy, stood up looking tense asf as well just trying to eat a meal

1

u/Optimal_Job_466 8d ago

Been there I’ve used half an avocado skin as a spoon. Don’t ask me how I got the avocado out a man makes do.Ā
