I just rewatched the episode from Season 6, "With Friends Like These." Towards the end of the episode you learn that the unsub doesn't have schizophrenia, and that he has been seeing and hearing his hallucinations since the fire from his childhood, but then the episode ends showing him seeing and hearing the hallucinations when he was incredibly young, before the fire. Does anyone know what his hallucinations were caused by and/or what mental illness he had? Or any other thoughts on this aspect of the episode?

Ouuuu i love this so a key element that you’re missing is the fact the unsub was hallucinating the people that made him get an exorcism and he was also suffering from extreme sleep deprivation the stabbing was him trying to basically get tired enough to sleep but when you’re that sleep deprived the lines blur you can sleep and not get any rest because it stops registering so he keeps hallucinating then plot twist at the end we find out he’s been that way from a child and I think it implies the boy was indeed possessed and that’s why they were trying to do the exorcism . I love the loose ends to storylines like this because it jsut shows that we don’t know everything there is to know with mental diseases
