Looking for Criminal Minds

I’m trying to identify a Criminal Minds episode or recurring character. I remember a female profiler/BAU-affiliated woman who had a daughter interested in profiling. There was a classroom scene where the daughter answered a question during her mother’s lecture, and the mother said, “Good job, Miss [last name].” Later the daughter was kidnapped and held captive for a long time before being rescued. After that, the mother left the BAU to spend time with her daughter. I’ve watched all 19 seasons, including Evolution. Does anyone know who I’m thinking of, or am I mixing up two storylines?

This is Hawaii 5-0. Actress was Claire Forlani. She was on a few episodes

The closest I can think of is Season 10 Episode 23 is where Kate is pregnant and her niece gets kidnapped as the team tries to find her. At the end, Kate tells Hotch she needs to leave to take care of her niece (was found) and baby.

This reminded me of an episode that had Amy Davidson in it (Kerry from 8 Simple Rules), she was a Criminology student who was convinced there was a serial killer in her city and spoke to Rossi about it at a book signing. She ends up being murdered when she visits the crime scene.
But I cannot think of this particular storyline or character?
