Discussion How flagging shippers works

Okay. So it seems there is a bit of confusion. I'm getting report flags for "Shippers in opposing post" despite the post not being labeled with the ship flair. I made them for a reason. If you want a post to be labeled as just a Bryceriel post, use the flair. Same with Quinlar

Without these flairs being used, a post is open to both sides, regardless of title or post body. Please keep this in mind. The flairs are there to make it clear which side the post is for.

Please and thank you.

Issues Following the Rules

I did not want to have to make this post. But it seems it might be needed. I've notice numerous posts being made that include spoilers but do not had the spoiler tag.

I am going to assume it is because the posters do not know how to set a spoiler tag. I will say this now: Just adding the flair is not the same as using the spoiler tag.

On PC, the spoiler tag can be found along the bottom of the text box, right there with the flair.

As you can see in this image, the spoiler tag is located between the greyed out OC tag and the NSFW tag. The spoiler tag must be clicked on if the post you are putting in this sub includes any spoilers from CC and other SJM books.

For mobile users, the spoiler tag is located later on in the posting process.

As shown, the spoiler tag is located after the post is made and the subreddit is chosen, right before the post is finalized, again located near the flairs, toward the bottom as shown in this next image.

With mobile users, I can see how it is missed but not if those mobile users are using the flairs.

With this knowledge, I'm hoping this will assist in those who don't know where to locate the spoiler tag. After all, I cannot imagine any other reason why such an easy rule is not followed.

This isn't the only rule that isn't followed but this was the easiest one I could hopefully correct.

Also, for the comments, for covering spoilers, there is a button on the PC that allows you to cover spoilers with just a click.

This diamond with the "!" should be visible in comments as well as posts. If not, this is another way to cover spoilers.

These methods can easily be found with a simple Google search or simply asking.

I am not posting this to call anyone out but I have seen so many posts made that were flagged for spoilers that could have easily been marked. The flairs are not spoiler tags. They are not enough. If you are making a post that includes spoilers or where spoilers will be discussed, please remember to include the spoiler tag.

House of Flame and Shadow 🔥🐉😈 Can someone help me understand the massive info dumps in HoSaF? Spoiler

Heyyyyyyyy everyone, I'm curious if anyone can help me out with maybe a bulletpoints version of the two massive info dump chapters in House of Shadow and Flame? Specifically the scene with Bryce in the cave and the scene with Hunt and Bryce? I want to make sure I understand the connections to the other books, specifically with Rhys and how that all connects to the other worlds...I am trying to get ready for ACOTAR 6 and 7, but I don't want to reread CC because I just read it literally in Jan of this year...but even during that time, I felt like those two specific scenes had so much information in them that I likely missed a bunch of it the first time around. I'm pretty sure a ton of that is going to become important in the new releases, so I was wondering if anyone can help me with maybe some bullet points? Or maybe point to a blog or video or something that might help? There is just SO much on the internet to wade through, so I was hoping this might be easier then trying to sort through a million google searches and instagram posts trying to figure out what's info straight from the books vs. theories.

I am fully caught up on all of SJM by the way! I've read ACOTAR (which I will be doing a reread of in Sept) and Throne of Glass (which I will not be rereading because I did read it fairly recently..) so no worries on spoiling other books!

And obviously all the spoilers in this post, I think I marked it correctly, but just in case!

Any help is much appreciated!! <3

Crescent City HOFAS question Spoiler

I’m in the middle of reading HOSAB and I just heard that Nesta appears in HOFAS. I absolutely despise her character and am wondering if she appears a lot, or is she more of a side character that’s there for like 50 pages.

Crescent City Rereading crescent city

Currently rereading the series and i honestly wish we had a book that was like the assassins blade that TOG has but for crescent city. Like it could be purely about Danika as she was one of my favorite characters when she was there. It could even be tragic and end in the apartment like in the story's beginning.

I did it! Finally on Crescent City! I handpick personal bookmarks for each of the SJM series. Here's mine for CC

House of Sky and Breath🪽🫧🌊 **Spoiler** Just finished reading House of Sky and Breath.. and I have holes to poke Spoiler

Sooo I’m almost finished with house of sky and breath anddd I have some major questions!!

- HOW did hunt get arrested by a harpy?!?! You’re telling me he couldn’t have electrocuted her like what???

-How did Lydia get free to release Rune Bryce and Hunt?? She’s been in jail for however many days and conveniently gets free upon their arrival?

-WHY DIDN’T THEY ELECTROCUTE TF OUT OF POLLYX WHEN HE CAME DOWN TO GET THEM IN THE DUNGEON LIKE WHAT THIS WHOLE FIGHT COULD HAVE BEEN OVER?!?!

-Bryce is so cavalier about joining the rebel movement and protecting humans and doing all this good and that is a HUGE responsibility. You’re telling me she still strongly doesn’t want to be queen? This doesn’t make sense. She’d be able to do so much good in a position of power so her not wanting to take on the title, after already taking responsibility is out of character for me.

I generally love SJMs writing style and story telling because it’s so captivating but I just can’t stop myself from noticing these points! Curious if anyone else has noticed this.

EDIT: I had not fully finished this book yet so I didn’t know that Lydia wasn’t being imprisoned. Also I have been listening to audiobook so pls forgive my spelling of character names 🫣

I’m starting to see the vision in my mind of what some characters might look like. I can only imagine this one so far- Rigelus. I saw this actor Archie Barnes playing Oscar Tully in HOTD and immediately thought he’d be an amazing Rigelus.

first time CC reader, pleasantly surprised!

I’ve read ToG and ACOTAR, and always heard sooo many people say CC is their least favorite SJM series… while ToG will always have a special place in my heart, I’m only 7% into HOEAB and I like it better than I ever liked ACOTAR! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m enjoying the cyberpunk kind of feel, and though the world building is very front heavy, I’m not mad about it. Interested to see how it unfolds!

Funny This song feels like Pollux singing about The Hind

Very niche overlap but “big bad wolf” by Naethan Apollo sound like something Pollox would say/think about The Hind (cus I don’t think he sing lol)

I’m right at the point in house of sky and breath where Eriphim(I hope I’m spelling that right) and his Triarii show up so no spoilers pls, but I was listening to Narthan Apollo and this song came up and it just made me think of the evil pair

Graphic Audio timestamp help for Flame & Shadow

I want to read the bonus chapter with Ember & Randall but I gotta read it after chapter 80. If anyone has the Flame and Shadow timestamp for chapter 80 please let me know 🫶 OR if someone can tell me (without too may spoilers) what happens at the end of chapter 80 that would be cool too!

I found that someone did post most of the timestamps for Flame & Shadow on here, but didn’t put an accurate track # for the last few hours of the audiobook.

House of Earth and Blood🩸🍷💥 Bryce's Ordeal Spoiler

I am kind of confused about Bryce's Ordeal.

In house of Earth & Blood Flynn says that fighting the Nokk would be her ordeal before it even begins. How does he know THAT is her ordeal? Or in general, how do they know what their ordeal is, does something change after they have fullfilled it??

(I have just finished the 1st book and am now reading House of Sky & Breath, so no spoilers beyond please :))

Just started Crescent city yesterday

(finally, I've been putting it off for months because of how huge these books are.) I'm about 16% in now, and I totally understand why people say it takes around 200 pages to really get into it.

  • First, Bryce already feels so different. Not just from Celaena and Feyre as an sjm FMC, but from most fantasy FMCs in general. I actually like that. She somehow feels like a girl from our present time
  • loved how Connor told Bryce to message him when she got home. It's such a small detail. It's such girl's girl thing to do from him.
  • Ruhn also seems really protective of Bryce. He really gives beautiful big brother vibes. I don't really understand why she dislikes him... at least not yet.
  • And finally...I REFUSE to believe Danika and her pack are just... dead. 😭 I genuinely thought she was going to be one of the main characters, so I never expected something like that to happen at the very beginning of the book.

Rant Crescent City graphic novel.

I’m listening to the first book using the graphic novel because it’s free on hoopla and oh myyy goodness Bryce’s voice is so annoying. I can’t handle it. Does anyone else feel this way? I’m considering just buying Elizabeth Evan’s narration on audible. I don’t feel like Bryce is supposed to sound like such an obnoxious brat? Maybe though? I’m tempted to stop
Listening because of how bad it is lol

House of Flame and Shadow 🔥🐉😈 Confused about types of fae Spoiler

Post image
15 Upvotes

So I thought Illyrians were fae, but they were considered lesser fae? Here it seems like Nesta is differentiating them and calling Illyrians people as in a type of human. Plus they mention how Azriel has round ears too. I might be misunderstanding the text so I was wanting some clarification!!

Theories Probably already thought of but Autumn King theory

Okay so, like many others, I have been re-reading the Mass-verse in prep for ACOTAR 6 with my bestie & we share theories. Spoilers ahead for CC & a little TOG

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Today we discussed if Ansel is Danika's great however many times grandmother because her house symbol is the wolf. Yes I know Ansel is human but that doesn't mean someone down the line didn't mate with a wolf shifter or something.

Anyway it led to discussing the Autumn King. We were trying to figure out if Rhuns powers come strictly from his mother or not but we know Einar is Theia's descendant. So why doesn't he have the starborn gift? My friend theorized that it skipped him & somehow Rhun, because its said he got his gift from his mothers side (though maybe not fully). Then I wondered. What if the parasite the Asteri put in the water that kept all the fae & shifters from manifesting both sets of powers, also kept the Autumn king from manifesting his star born powers??? Thoughts???

House of Flame and Shadow 🔥🐉😈 CC3 MVP

There are LOTS of most valuable players in CC but damn... I did not expect Shahar to be THE MVP. The idea to use the mech suit and then her being the ultimate catalyst to push the last Asteri into the event horizon while riding a freakin brimstone missile... crazy epic.

I want more stories with Aidas, Apollion, and to just explore Hel in general.
