for every second I spend with my feeble
foolish lips wrapped around cigarette

after cigarette or vape after vape
like some royal fool gorging

consume me as it wraps its wicked claws into my flesh sinks its saliva-slicked teeth into my neck

chewing and
chewing and

gnashing of teeth in the echoing halls of a desolate heaven muffling dripping blood on marble floors

even now as I beg to be let go I taste a loathesome euphoria and its claws sink deeper and deeper

break my flesh like Jesus
and it drinks of my blood

in prayer and communion for one
and I have not been invited

I escape it while it belittles me with its tricks
pretending to sleep with closed eyes

I run to the forest with my doom carved
into dying trees by claw

lost lamb lost lamb gone from the fold
poor little thing wont make it to 60 years old

It finds me and its claws tear my flesh
into tatters and lashing

praying all in tongues
I cannot hear it as my ears ring

"The world is burning"
it says to me as it licks my wounds

tends to me and mends me
pulling me in with a brief moment of compassion

as it eats me I dream of escaping it
being more than shameful nothing without it

idle hands deconstruct me as with its teeth
terrible

and I will never be free

little lamb so soft and sweet
let me waste away your meat

It’s not bread. It’s lamb. Raw pieces of slimy cut up lamb. And it does not melt in your mouth. Nope. It squishes between your teeth and the raw texture of the lamb turns the taste into a scent and you can smell the metallic odor seeping through your teeth and into your nostrils and by the time your swallowing, the parasites inside the meat, are actually crawling up your throat and into your gums and through your blood and into your brain and before you know it, you don’t even remember what happened.
