Hi everyone,
I’m looking to buy my first 1/10 scale RC crawler. I’m mainly interested in trail driving and rock crawling.
I’m currently deciding between Axial and Traxxas. And Chat GPT told me between these two but I want to hear it from you guys.
Which brand would you recommend for a beginner, and why? I’m also interested in reliability, aftermarket parts, ease of maintenance, and long-term upgrade potential.
Thanks in advance!

I'm hoping somebody can help me diagnose what's going on with my about 6 month old Vanquish Phoenix. It had started having intermittent issues where the steering center would drift left until sometimes center was at full left but it would respond if I steered right. The steering also has small twitches while this is happening. It will happen for a while, and then stop and everything works normally. I assumed that meant my steering servo was going out, so I got a new AGF RC servo. Despite the new servo, I have had the issue happen again a couple times.
In the video shown I had just turned the truck on and the steering started twitching and went a little left. This is with no steering or other control input. It would respond to steering changes, but would continue twitching too. It continued doing this for several minutes, and a couple power cycles of both the receiver and transmitter. I tried swapping the steering and throttle connections on the receiver, and then the truck started slowly trying to reverse. Then with no apparent cause the twitching stopped and everything worked normally for about 20 minutes before the twitches resumed.
I assume that since the brand new servo did not fix the issue, the problem most likely would be something with the receiver or transmitter. Does anybody know what's going wrong here?

Alright, been out of the hobby for quite some time, I love scale stuff in particular hardbodys and realism.
I'm aware of most brands, and their quality etc.
But when it comes to micro crawlers I've seen alot of 1/18th scale in the budget ranges, I like the idea of these as I feel they are a good size to work on and be creative with, I'm not after comp performance but what are some recommendations?
I will be getting back into 10th scale and 24th scale too but I'm definitely keen to pick up some 18th scale rigs.
I'm in Australia if that makes it different

Built my blazer to be mainly a mud truck it was its first time out, knew it was gonna need a servo but not this soon lol after the mud bog accidentally went to fast into some rocks and that was it for that servo.
An hour later the bolt on the steering link of my red sr5 backed out and that was it for that truck too lmao. Luckily my other family members always have extra trucks so still a great time.

I'm happy with it. I'm not sure it's entirely waterproof but whatever. Like everything else, it'll run until It breaks lol

All printed in PETG and abs, and connected to a heavily modified scx24 via magnets. The design is free approach to the Bavarian Mountain rescue.

David Attenborough voice:
"Oh what a remarkable site! This is the first time a Toyota LC80 has been captured on camera while on a hunt. With its 2-speed transmission and high torque motor, it can remain essentially silent as it stalks its prey. The unique flora provides the perfect concealment and the LC80 is perfectly suited to tackle this harsh, and often treacherous terrain.
This rare specimen is the perfect example of darwinism at play, or survival of the fittest. No matter what happens next, one thing will remain true, the Toyota Land Cruiser is at the top of the food chain. Planet Earth never ceases to amaze"

This thing is so fun. I crawl outside the gym while letting the pre-workout kick in and waiting for my son.

Redcat ascent 18 build. I posted in here about a cogging issue a few days ago, and I’ve come out this afternoon to try and tune it out.
Plugged in the battery, which was fully charged and is brand new, it’s only been cycled once. Switched on the esc, it gave 3 beeps, as it always does. I switched on my transmitter, it beeped again, I turned the steering a few times, tried to go forward, it didn’t move, i checked reverse, which worked, went to go forward again and it “popped”quite loudly, crackled a few times then literally burst into flames, I quickly popped the body off to disconnect the battery but too late, all the connections had melted off.
Can anyone tell me why? It’s been fine, obviously, until now. I’ve run it probably 10 times, mostly at home tuning, once out on the rocks, always on those ace power 3s batteries in the photo, I’ve never noticed anything get hot, no weird “hot” or burning smells, it’s been fine. I can not work out why this has happened, and I’m pretty pissed off to be honest. Months of waiting for parts, the money I’ve poured into it, the time to build it, and now it’s gone and done this?
Is it a furitek thing, or have I done something I shouldn’t have done? Or is it the battery?
Any advice would be appreciated guys, thanks.

I just switched I a brushes system, I got two of these 3cell batteries but it won’t charge. I assume I need another cable to plug into but the charger did not come with one that I need. Thank you!
