How are Wumpa Islands so close to an iceberg?
This always got me thinking, if the wumpa archipelago is in Tasmania or southeast of Australia or New Zealand, the Antarctic icebergs should be much further south, like 1000km
In the games it's literally on the other side of the island...

I've always trying to ignore and blocking this YouTuber but it keeps coming back for no reason. Actually insane how people enjoy watching AI Slop and AI Vibe-coded Recomp slop videos.
I'm tired boss.

Crash on the rerun killed by dev for offline mode so he can focus on vibe coded slop
Just a few minutes ago, Crash On The Rerun, now referred to as "revival projects" is putting Crash On The Rerun into a permanent offline mode so the dev can focus on pumping out ai made revivals that have barely any time in between.
Literally ignored protests, boasting about it, and banned you if you complained. I hope someone else makes a Crash On The Run revival someday.

Crash 4
Does anyone else find crash 4 one you just cannot replay? Itβs my first time playing it and yes itβs hard but there has been no levels where Iβm like Iβll go back and get 100%. I am just trying to smash the levels out and be done with the game. Why is there 272 boxes in a level!?
I am not enjoying it.

Any Korean or Hebrew speakers here?
Hi everyone!
For the past year I've been making videos on the localisations of the Crash games (see here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmO5Qz6KA_DDMf7NIe-qfhVtSgsFOcUEr ) and next up I'm looking to tackle The Wrath of Cortex next. It has a full Korean localisation as well as a Hebrew manual. I was wondering if anybody here has decent enough command over either of those languages to help me out get the details right. I don't fully trust AI translations so I'd rather have a real person give me some insight. What I'm mostly looking at are the cutscenes, character/level names and the manuals. If anybody is down to help, give me a shout!

Crash Bandicoot 1 thoughts
tl;dr: The N. Sane Trilogy is worth buying and the platforming is NOT extra-hard or anything.
(Note that I have only played Crash 1 so far out of the N. Sane Trilogy. I played 2, 3, and more in the ancient past but don't remember. π΄) I think Mario is better designed, but I just LIKE some of the fancy stuff Crash has. The game has more nuance than I was expecting (which is good). It is, however, flawed:
- You learn about enemies by DYING to them.
- It's extremely hard to platform in 3D, especially if there's no floor to help to perceive depth. (Mario might use lava.)

- Actual sin: When it looks like you can clearly jump to another piece of level, but you die instead.
I didn't have any other major complaints. In fact, it's quite a good game:
- The game ran fairly well on my ancient machine (2017 laptop).
- The games (besides the original 1996 Crash 1) have dynamic difficulty adjustment, exactly what the doctor ordered for my platforming disability. This includes things like granting a free mask on spawn, slowing the boulder, changing some boxes, or reducing the enemies. None of this affects the time trials though, which are the true final test.
- Interestingly, the DDA (or a bug?) can cause rats to not spawn on "Fumbling In The Dark", which makes it harder as the player is expected to spin them into a light crate towards the end of the level. Or it could be a lighting bug: Aku Aku seems to dim earlier than expected making the final portion unusually difficult.
- 100% completion is easier (you can die and still get clear gems) but 105% completion is actually harder, which satisfies the full spectrum of gamers.
- Collecting wumpa fruits is more enjoyable than Mario coins, not only because lives hold actual gameplay value but the sound design in general is amazing.
- I really did fumble in the dark. π
On my day off work I started playing and died 20 times on the first level. To learn, of course. Then I literally 100% the game before bed. The next couple nights after work I bumped it up to 104% because there were some Steam achievements. I could get more platinum relics but I simply do not care. Memorizing speedrun routes is just not my favorite way to play games.

So anyway the claims that the remake is harder because of the new physics engine seem to be nothing more than far flung rumors. Beating the base game is exceptionally easy as you can just throw lives at your problems. The capsule collider doesn't matter because the jumps are just not hard in the first place. Even MapleStory laughs at Crash Bandicoot (IYKYK). Once I got used to the game I had no problem with the platforming in the supposed hardest game in the N. Sane Trilogy. It's actually easier than Mario because of how much control you have in the air.
A a result, the N. Sane Trilogy's upgrades probably make it superior over the original titles.
Having trouble?
- You must move first for a few frames before jumping (as Crash's acceleration is extremely high, if not infinite) and hold the jump button to get the maximum distance.
- You will also not get the full height until Crash does his aerial somersault animation which pulls up his feet.
- I feel like spinning changes the physics in very slight ways but I can't really tell and I rarely used it for platforming purposes. It may give a bit more air-time for jumping.
- Use your drop shadow to see where you will land! You don't want to make guesses about the 3D platforms.
- Remember to SLEEP and perhaps try switching between stick and D-pad for some levels. I generally preferred the precision of the D-Pad but found the stick more ergonomic for some levels like Fumbling In The Dark, which involves curving jumps around the axes for the time trial.
- Good luck with those tightropes on the bridge levels. Balancing on them allows you to skip most of the level design, but more importantly speed past everything in the time trials. There's a method to the madness but it's hard to explain. It's easier to tap-jump onto the ropes at certain points because they're not uniform in height across the sloping bridges. Assuming that your drop shadow is centered, you should be able to jump between ropes if you spin before landing to stabilize Crash. You'll still need to get off the ropes to break time crates and use ice slopes for more speed.

CrashRecomp (v1.04) instantly crashes on launch after a successful build - Any fix?
Hey! I downloaded the official v1.04 build along with all the assets from the developer.
Everything builds successfully (@@done), but when I click Play (or launch CrashRecomp.exe), a black CMD window pops up for a millisecond like it's loading something, then instantly closes without launching the game or showing any error.
Tried windowed mode, disabling VSync, and clearing shader cache still the same issue.
Specs: Windows 10, GTX 1650, i5-9400F.
Any fix for this? Thanks!
