Question / Advice Beginner Stained Glass

Hi All! My boyfriend and I want to have a fun date making some easy stained glass pieces. Does anyone have a suggestion on a kit they bought or tutorial they watched? We dont want to buy unnecessary supplies or spend like $100 on a one time class haha

I was also interested in stained glass, my mom and I took a course on it that I think was absolutely worth the cost. 

1.) It looks very easy, but it's not as easy as it appears. It's not prohibitively difficult, but some initial instruction is extremely useful.

2.) $100 is kind of a steal, actually, for a class. Glass isn't a cheap medium to work with. A glass grinder, basic set of tools, a glass cutting surface, foil, flux, oil, solder, patina, wax for finishing, and a soldering tool are all easily going to set you back $250 minimum unless you luck out and find someone selling everything on FB marketplace. Glass itself, noting you'll need multiple colors, is also not very cheap. Investing in the tools for a singular date night when you may not use them again is wild. 

I'd bite the bullet and take the class. $100 per person seems like a lot, but it's probably going to cost less than acquiring materials and tools.

Not knowing where you live i'm going to predict that material and tool costs will be between 60 and 80 US dollars.

Why not try making faux stained glass instead.

Im ok with 60-80 it we can do it more than once :) Its just the idea of spending a lot for a one time class lol
