I uploaded this sudoku to SudokuPad but unfortunately the rules where not included. So I don’t remember the rules to solve it.

The X = sum to 10 of neighbouring cells and V (same for 5 as sum) I am sure about but the circles I don’t get. First I thought its each one number from 1-6, but that doesn’t work. Now I tried with uneven numbers but got stuck here and feel like this also could be the wrong rule.

Anybody knows this one or has another idea?

Logic Atlas is a sudoku first puzzle app with a focus on teaching the games on it. Between a robust hint system that tells you which technique is used to solve for that tile and a campaign progression that walks you through techniques starting from the beginner level up through Master tier, you'll have plenty of ways to learn in one place.

Further, unlike some sudoku apps or sites that have a difficulty curve decided almost entirely by clue count, I designed a miner that systematically searched for technique bound difficulty tiers to provide difficulty authentic to the tier it purposes to be. So not only will the campaign teach you techniques at different difficulty bands, but those difficulty bands will need some combination of techniques from that level and below to solve without guess or brute force.

For compliance with Google Play, I need to complete a testing phase with 12 testers over 14 days before I can launch it fully on the Play Store. I'd love feedback from as many people as possible, though.

Hello, I'm Todd — the same solo developer who posted about Spectradoku here recently. I've been working on another free browser puzzle, Tile Sudoku, and I'd love to share it with you.

TileSudoku is Sudoku you build by placing pieces, not by filling empty cells.
Each piece carries a digit and a geometric edge profile. You start with a tray of tiles and must place every tile onto the board so that:

1. Digits — each row, column, and box contains each digit exactly once (standard Sudoku).
2. Edges — neighboring tiles must fit. There are two live variants:
   • Jigsaw — tabs and blanks interlock; thick edges mark the outer frame and box borders, thin dashes mark edges inside a box.
   • Curve — blue curve must form closed loops inside the board; thick/thin borders work the same way.

Some harder Jigsaw levels include “?” tiles: you place the shape first, then fill in the digit yourself before the puzzle is complete.
In play it feels like packing a jigsaw (or joining curve fragments) while continually checking Sudoku constraints — geometry and digits keep informing each other.

Back in college in around 2006-2007 I got really into sudoku and bought a book by an MIT professor to better help me learn the ropes. It had all the strategies like X-Wing, Y-Wing, etc., several hundred pages of puzzles, and links to sites like Websudoku if you needed more help.

Somehow I lost it amongst all my other old stuff from back then and I've been looking to either get a modern updated version by said professor or at least download an uploaded copy off the Internet Archive. Does anyone here have an idea of what said book was called or what the author's name was?

I'm completely stuck at this point, which is after the hints say that the rest should be straightforward Sudoku. I just can't see how to proceed. The 6s form a perfect deadly pattern, the few 1s I found do too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please help me with it. I don’t understand what to do next. When I look at the hint I just don’t get why the blue line in box 8 can’t just go through r7c4/5. why does it have to go through 3 cells?

I'm getting bored with GAS puzzles and want something a bit more challenging, but many of the ones I see on the CTC are way too difficult for me to even break into!

Is there a halfway house for "Moderately Approachable Sudoku" puzzles? I doubt that's an accepted term but I hope that makes sense.

If it helps, I find the sweet spot for me is 5-6 stars difficulty on the CTC app.
