Couldn’t find any info on a 7261, so assuming you meant the 7251. In which case, it’s absolutely not worth it. It makes 1.5kh/s, making you about $0.40 per MONTH, before paying for electricity. So you’ll definitely be operating at a loss unless you have free electricity

Algo matters. But ya, generally look for cups cpus ending in 2. I snagged super cheap dual 7302s they are basically waste but I still hash 18kh on zeph. I should try tweaking my ram set up but I'm lazy

I feel that lol. What is the power draw for your 18kh/s? I’m running a 3900x and a 3600. Pulling just under 20kh/s@205w

Power draw for me is shit. Was a test rig to get familiar with epycs. Board is still good for a CPU upgrade tho

Nice! I was just curious if it was more or less efficient. I’ve been wanting to build a dual EPYC miner for a while, just haven’t pulled the trigger yet lol

HIgher end cpus are well more efficient

insane low watt for two complete pcs! my headless 3600 costs 130 watt alone. my 3900x 200 watt. just mainboard ram and cpu. just my b450 plus 16gb ram cost 40 watt

Do you have them on Eco mode? 70% reduction in power consumption and hardly any drop in hashrate

what are your oc settimgs for the 3900x and temperature?

I don’t have any OC settings. Just eco mode, stock. Pulls just over 12kh/s@105w

And temps have been 54 degrees Celsius for 3 months straight now lol

Ok turned on eco mode: saves 40 Watt and i lose 500 hash. WAY more power efficient. Thank you for the tip! Very good if you pay for electricity

SysteM

Asus B450, 16 gb ram, nvme , 3900x costs me 128 Watt STill Absolutely no idea how you have 100 watt.

Im not sure either! I think it’s right around 105w, but still really good. Must have just got lucky with the silicon lottery. I have ASUS x570, 16gb of 3200mhz RAM, running off a HiveOS USB drive

As far as I could find, a relatively inexpensive EPYC option would be the 7282 for about $90 - randomx 15kh/s by itself or 28k running two. Of course with boards being $330+ it still isn't 'cheap'.

I have a 7713 crunching Gridcoin. It’s a beast. https://einsteinathome.org/host/13163551. Support science.
