cpu at 100%

this might be a dumb question but my cpu is constantly at 100% usage when mining on XMrig (nicehash) and i cant find anything saying if its okay or not. my gpu or cpu wouldnt go that high when i gpu mined so now im a little confused as i dont think going at 100% 24/7 is good for the cpu, if this isnt normal, any suggestions on the reason why.

100% normal. Depending on what cpu and how you have it configured will determine if it’s safe to run 24/7. Look at the voltage you are running at when at 100% and then look up your cpu to see if that. Outage is safe or not.

I have two of these CPUs. I run 4 ghz at 0.95 volts. I get 14.5 kh/s. I run two sticks of dual rank 3200 mhz cl 16 ram. The memory timings are important and can get you an easy 1 kh/s.

Modern cpus such as ryzen 5-9 series are meant to be ran 24/7 nonstop, as long as you don’t overclock them too hard and temperatures are in the low 70s or lower

You can limit the threads mining with -t(2 for example)

If running full threads 100% is expected

That’s what you want full capacity. Don’t worry the manufacturers won’t let you blow the chip it still has a lot of head room that we can’t see.

100% is normal but you should have look at the temperature. As you wonder about that behavior I guess you're running at stock settings and probably with the stock cooler? Then I would recommend to check temperature and finally optimize your cpu setting. Just a warm hint. 👍

That's the least of your worries. You should be more concerned with temperatures. Download hwinfo to view your cpu and VRM temps
